This probably winds up being my third favorite of the trilogy, but that still leaves a ton of room for it to be amazing. Whereas the first match might have been perfect, organic tag team wrestling and the third match was a perfect chaotic brawl... this did feel a touch like it might be chasing greatness and in turn was a touch more spread out than it really needed to be. I'll still contend it deserves a nomination as it is executed really well and the story they told was compelling from start to finish. I like that both teams won a fall with their finishers before being into the uncharted territory of "what will possibly end this thing" in the third fall. Both teams remain at the top of the game in terms of chemistry and timing and those things create some drama. Overall, I wouldn't bat an eye if someone said this was their favorite of the bunch and I wouldn't be terrible shocked if it made someone's list. This is a match that probably winds up my MOTY or at least top 3 in most years (at least in the past 10-15 years or so), but the competition is far too stiff in 2022, so it slid a bit. Still worth a nomination.

I think this is waaay too long & over the top. First match always felt like a Briscoes match & this one feels more like an FTR match. I prefer the Briscoes. I get why someone would go crazy for this. If I could show this match to me in 2000 it'd blow my mind. Now it's just kinda tedious.

This match to me felt like the ideal of FTR's vision for pro wrestling. I have had qualms about how they can manufacture drama in their matches and even in this one, I had a slight moment of frustration but everything came together in a package that I could not help but completely adore. The first two falls couldn't have been executed better. They milked the Briscoes 2 straight angle so well, what with the commanding first fall win and an absolutely brutal assault in the second. The Briscoes' prolonged, violent dominance was critical to making FTR's eventual win thanks to Dax's resilience and Cash's tenacity feel monumental. There were many strike exchanges in this match which usually is not my favorite thing at all but they were all worked with such urgency like their lives depended on winning that particular exchange. The third fall's peaks and valleys was cogent based on what occurred previously and the finish is perfect. Even with the superfluous ref bump sequence, this is a true blue tag classic. 2022 MOTY.

This is up there with those Cole/Gargano matches as the sort of thing that genuinely offends me.
