UWA World Women's Tag Team Title / JWP Tag Team Title Match: Las Cachorras Orientales (Etsuko Mita & Mima Shimoda) (c) vs. Kaoru Ito & Yumiko Hotta - AJW - 02/05/1994
The match begins with a brawl to the outside after some brief in the ring spots. The match has its first cool spot of the match when Ito has Mita in a submission hold and the crowd chants for Hotta, who comes in and whallops Mita in the chest to a round of applause. Hotta comes in and abuses Mita some more, which riles up Shimoda on the apron. Mita attempts to make the tag after a quick victory roll on Ito but it’s prevented, but only just. Ito then shows her cheeky side with some hair pulling and rule bending. Shimoda comes in and attacks Ito with a lot of venom, hitting piledrivers and drilling her with elbows in the chin hold. Then it’s her turn to rile Hotta while Mita chokes Ito in the corner, though it’s less effective as Hotta is more cool than her. After an extended heat spot on Ito, Hotta comes in and sets things right and they head back into the crowd where Ito crushes Shimoda with a footstomp. Ito resumes her role almost immediately which was a bit awkward but she’s good at it and LCO are just great offensive wrestlers. LCO hit dives at the 20 minute call and set Ito up for an electric chair/flying splash combo that failed. Ito follows up with stomps - one on the outside to Mita and even more to Shimoda for a close two count. Hotta tries to finish her off but Shimoda evades the spinning heel kick and hits double clotheslines. Hotta tries for the double underhook which LCO tries to avoid like the plague until Hotta finally succeeds on Mita. The momentum goes back and forth for the closing stretch, which is pretty awesome. There are two great false finishes at the 25 minute mark with a roll up and then a bridging German suplex by Ito. Ito and Mita are the two left in the ring when Mita hits a death valley driver to pin Ito and retain the tag team titles to cap off a great match. ****1/4
