Jerry Lawler vs Steve Corino (Battle of the Kings - NAWF - 3/3/02)
Fantastic match that would've fit in just as well in 1972 as it did in 2002. The most devastating move they use is a piledriver, but they still put together a great match primarily built around Corino hiding a foreign object. It's a complete masterclass in crowd psychology from both wrestlers as far as keeping a crowd engaged. There aren't any "THIS IS AWESOME!" or "HOLY SHIT" chants. It's a family crowd and the kids are going crazy the whole time screaming that Corino's got something in his hand, now its in his trunks now its in his boot, now back to the hand etc etc.
Shoutout to the referee who is really engaged with everything and does an awesome job both playing to the crowd at times and also putting himself in positions to where he would plausibly be unaware of the foreign object without being a completely idiot. Just frustrating. Turn around man!
Anyway classic match.
