On rewatch this is definitely good enough to be nominated for this. The opening exchanges are among the absolute best shootstyle exchanges of the 21st century because Ono was not giving at all, he was pretty much 100% all the time, even when Usuda was beginning to take him down Ono was looking for a counter and always going for the kill. Ono looks like a total monster and Usuda does a really great Fujiwaraish performance trying to counter him until Ono was in desperation mode by the end. Couple fantastic counters and a brilliant finish. Just incredible intense stuff.

This was an excellent match and a great find, two guys throwing whatever they could at the other for about 12 minutes. Could have been a touch longer but overall a strong contender and worthy of consideration. Ono in particular had a great performance here, with my favorite moment being Ono working over a grounded Usada's leg before leaping over Usada's entire body to deliver a double foot stop to his face, great stuff. Ono also finds himself in an armbar at one point and flails his body enough to get his foot onto the second rope for a break somehow which was cool to see. Great strikes, brutal submissions, some interesting counters, if you're into the Futen style this is worth the watch, thirded.

Watched it. Yep good one. Pretty much what you'd expect from these two for 12 minutes. Good stuff.
