Footloose vs Can Am Express (AJPW - 6/5/1989)
Famously great match from a famously great card. This finished 11th on the DVDVR 80s All Japan set voting and that was a fucking loaded set at the top. I don't really have much to say. Excellent mid-card workrate tag that feels like the best possible Midnight Express vs Fantastics match or something.

This is a great match that I don't think I had seen before. Usually Furnas is outshone by Kroffat but here he gives probably the best performance not just on his team but in the match; which is saying a lot considering this match opens with a martial arts kick contest turned hockey fight between Kawada and Kroffat. Another thing I love here is the crowd reaches a certain point where they've seen enough cheating from Fuyuki and from that point on they boo literally everything he does for the rest of the match.
****1/2 seconded

Thirded. prefer this to 5/25/92 kobashi kikuchi vs can ams. hot as hell heat and overall better work imo. kawada loses his temper and gives a hateful performance. some great strikes with good execution that play into narrative.can am work as a machine and had a lot stunning moves cant help but say just beautiful. a lot hate and great strikes can am outlasts footloose by throwing furnas at a table.southern tag fip structure nailed to perfection here. has a solid chance to make my list.

A well-built tag match with Kroffat and Furnas showing how amazing it was that they were so good for so long. Kawada and Fuyuki were an amazing tag team as well. This really picked up in the last third and got the fans really behind the Can-Ams.
