Here are the rules for the 2023 Greatest Match Ever Project.
1) Your ballot is due on June 30, 2023 (Terry Funk's birthday).
2) The nomination process for 2023 will end on June 18, 2023.
3) You can only vote for nominated matches (See nomination process below).
4) You must submit a complete ballot with 100 Matches.
Nomination Process
In order for a match to be eligible to be voted on in the Greatest Match Ever Project, it must be nominated.
The process if very simple and the restrictions can be found HERE.
1) Start a thread for a match (that hasn't already had the process started on it) in the Nomination Process section of the board.
2) In that thread, three people must advocate for the match, which can be a simple "second" or "third" OR you can submit a direct nomination by writing a one paragraph case for the match. If you are not a mod you must still put direct nominations in the Nomination Process forum. Any nominations submitted after June 18 will not be considered.
3) Once a thread reaches this threshold, a mod will move the match from the Nomination Process section to the Nominees section. We may not get to move every qualifying match to the official list, but if it meets the requirements it can be considered (even if it is still in the nomination process section). What can I say, we aren't the fastest in this regard and we will likely never be completely caught up. If you have questions about a match's nomination status just email a mod.
Notes
When including a match on your list, please list it as it appears in the Index of Nominees or it does not appear there, in the match's thread title. This will help us tabulate results and avoid errors.
If you vote for a match that has not cleared nominations (assuming we catch it), that vote will simply not be counted. We sort through hundreds of matches so it is possible we will miss one or two in the "others receiving votes" section, but we will not miss one in the actual top 100 list. Please double check and make sure your matches have cleared nomination before submitting.
