775-T. Kazuchika Okada vs Togi Makabe (NJPW - 6/22/2013)
Total Points: 8
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: NintendoLogic - 93
Never seen this. Makabe had that match with Nagata where there was blood everywhere, didn't he? I have about as much use for Okada as I had for Pokemon cards so I might not ever watch this.
775-T. Undertaker vs Mankind (Buried Alive Match - WWF - 10/20/1996)
Total Points: 8
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: Mattsdmf - 93
This was almost punch-for-punch identical to when my uncle Danny buried my uncle Joe in a peat bog at the Easter Sunday barbecue. I actually watched most of the Undertaker/Mankind matches not that long ago and this was like my third favourite of them all, behind the boiler room brawl (another carbon copy of Danny and Joe) and hell in a cell. Foley getting hiptossed down a hill was pretty amusing but also probably hurt like a bastard.
775-T. Akira Maeda vs Andrei Kopylov (RINGS - 8/21/1992)
Total Points: 8
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: Control21 - 93
This is a cool pick. When I went through the early RINGS chronologically I thought this was the best Maeda bout up to that point.
775-T. Aja Kong vs. Bison Kimura (AJW - 6/21/1992)
Total Points: 8
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: CFOS - 93
Also a cool pick. Aja walloping Bison so hard it knocks her tooth out is sort of fitting for two tag team partners like this wading into a scrap with each other. Very reminiscent of my brother and I fighting over the last turkey leg every Halloween.
775-T. Midnight Express vs Bill Watts & Stagger Lee (MS - 4/22/1984)
Total Points: 8
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: mvz - 93
Walking tall Watts was always a hoot when he'd step into the ring throughout the 80s and this was probably peak walking tall Watts. So many amazing punches and of course he's in there with maybe the best pinballing heel unit ever so no way that wasn't going to rule.
775-T. Giant Baba vs Fritz Von Erich (AJPW - 7/25/1975)
Total Points: 8
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: el_wreino - 93
I honestly don't remember which Baba/Fritz match I've seen. Whichever one it was...well it's been a minute. Baba is shaped like the swimming coach we had back in primary school (or grade school for the non-Scottish folk), all spindly-limbed and gangly and I believe to this day that if fourteen rabid 9-year-olds had picked him up and thrown him in the pool he wouldn't actually have been able to swim to the side. I am absolutely certain of it.
774. ASUKA vs Akito (DDT - 7/15/2019)
Total Points: 8
# of Ballots: 2
High Vote: el_wreino - 94
I had no idea what this was so I went and read about it in the nominations section and it actually sounds pretty damn interesting. First one to break the light tube loses brings back many a memory of family barbecues where the first one to smash a pint tumbler is to be beaten with a stick by every family member present.
769-T. Orange Cassidy v. David Starr (Beyond - 11/25/2018)
Total Points: 9
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: [Darren] - 92
I can't imagine this is one I'll ever get around to if I'm being honest.
769-T. Josh Barnett vs Hideki Suzuki (IGF - 12/31/2011)
Total Points: 9
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: Tetsujin - 92
Another Barnett match I should watch. I haven't watched Suzuki in a while either actually, but I'm a big fan and he was probably my favourite wrestler in all of Japan in like 2017/2018.
769-T. Kana vs. Meiko Satomura (Kana-Pro - 4/29/2010)
Total Points: 9
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: el_wreino - 92
One of several Meiko/Kana matches I need to see, apparently. Their Triple Tails (is that the name of an actual promotion?) match from 2011 is excellent so I'm looking forward to seeing more.
769-T. 2 Cold Scorpio vs Shane Douglas vs Chris Jericho vs Pitbull #2 (ECW Heatwave - 7/13/1996)
Total Points: 9
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: madwizzzard - 92
This lasted like 45 minutes or something, didn't it? I was not a fan.
769-T. Pirata Morgan vs El Faraon (EMLL - 11/16/1990)
Total Points: 9
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: silverwidow - 92
The primary school I went to was situated next to a wildlife reserve and at least once a week when walking home we would see a pack of jackals engaged in mortal combat with a pack of dingoes and Pirata Morgan gnawing on someone's forehead often reminds me of those simpler times. This match rules and I could see myself voting for it after a re-watch.
766-T. CM Punk vs John Cena (WWE - 2/25/2013)
Total Points: 9
# of Ballots: 2
High Vote: Kadaveri - 95
I prefer this to the Money in the Bank match. I was an extremely belligerent child and I can appreciate someone doing something they were explicitly told not to so the piledriver spot really touches me deep in the soul.
766-T. Tatsumi Fujinami vs Osamu Nishimura (MUGA - 9/25/2006)
Total Points: 9
# of Ballots: 2
High Vote: CFOS - 96
Honestly, it baffles me how I've never quite GOTTEN this match. Basically every person I speak to about wrestling whose tastes are similar to mine raves about this, and it's just never really done anything for me. It's been about 10 years so probably due a re-watch.
766-T. Trio Fantasia vs Los Thundercats (Monterrey - 12/8/1991)
Total Points: 9
# of Ballots: 2
High Vote: mrjmml - 96
This is the epitome of lucha, in much the same way drinking tonic wine out of a watering can on your 11th birthday is the epitome of Scotland and having maple syrup with your steak is the epitome of Canada prolly.
760-T. Hiromu Takahashi vs KUSHIDA (NJPW - 4/9/2017)
Total Points: 10
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: CFOS - 91
I think I've seen one KUSHIDA match. Couldn't tell you how many of the other person.
760-T. Brock Lesnar vs Goldberg (WWE - 11/20/2016)
Total Points: 10
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: puroraisedme - 91
I love this pick. One of my favourite 5-minute matches ever. Lesnar thinking the old guy coming out of retirement only to get driven through the canvas was like the time I entered the Christmas judo contest and lost in the first round to the retired postman. Never underestimate a bald man who will willingly walk through fireworks, no matter how long in the tooth they may be.
760-T. The Rockers vs The Orient Express (WWF - 1/19/1991)
Total Points: 10
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: Andrew Lacelle - 91
I could've had half a dozen Rockers matches on my list. In the end I only had three and this wasn't one of them, but it's still a blast and has a ton of cool, creative stuff in it.
760-T. Midnight Express vs Fantastics (JCP - 3/26/1988)
Total Points: 10
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: Mattsdmf - 91
I don't know if I've seen this. The Clash match the following night is still the business and I bet this one is good, because nearly every single MX/Fantastics match is good. I have been hit several times with a tennis racket in my life so I have a deep personal connection with Tommy Rogers.
760-T. Hulk Hogan & Roddy Piper vs Paul Orndorff & Harley Race (WWF – 11/24/1986)
Total Points: 10
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: Elliott - 91
A great match and a great pick. Piper and Hogan are the most electric team ever, where even a basic tag results in the crowd going bananas. Almost TOO much charisma for any team to be allowed to wield.
760-T. Antonio Inoki vs. Riki Choshu (NJPW - 8/2/1984)
Total Points: 10
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: Club - 91
I've been meaning to watch this for years now. Hopefully some day.
751-T. Mayu Iwatani vs Giulia (STARDOM - 1/29/2022)
Total Points: 11
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: CFOS - 90
I don't think I had a clue who either of these two were in 2021. I mean I still don't think I've seen a match with either of them in it but I at least know who they are now.
751-T. Kana vs. Meiko Satomura (Triple Tails - 2/13/2011)
Total Points: 11
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: el_wreino - 90
Yeah, this rules. About as close to joshi FUTEN as you'll get, right down to the way it's shot. More obviously the comparison is from how they absolutely leather each other, of course.
751-T. Bryan Danielson vs Necro Butcher (PWG - 7/29/2007)
Total Points: 11
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: puroraisedme - 90
Another quality Necro Butcher match from a period where he was better than just about every opponent he had, including his opponent here. If you're like me then you've seen many a librarian get into a fight with a homeless person over a tin of beans and this was essentially that.
751-T. Yuki Ishikawa vs Alexander Otsuka (BattlARTS - 1/20/1998)
Total Points: 11
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: Control21 - 90
I haven't seen this in years but I bet it doesn't suck.
751-T. Bret Hart vs Shawn Michaels (Montreal - WWF - 11/9/97)
Total Points: 11
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: Lemming - 90
Possibly their best match together? I watched it a couple months ago and people wanted to legit stab Michaels and at one point he threw Bret outside the ring and my first thought was "he's only doing this so he can spin on someone in the crowd" and then he did.
751-T. Mitsuharu Misawa and Kenta Kobashi vs Akira Taue and Toshiaki Kawada (AJPW - 6/1/1993)
Total Points: 11
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: madwizzzard - 90

751-T. Bull Nakano vs Yumiko Hotta (Cage Match - AJW - 1/23/1991)
Total Points: 11
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: Grimmas - 90
I could've sworn I watched this a couple years ago but I never wrote anything about it here so maybe I didn't watch it after all. Maybe I'm getting confused with the Bull/Aja cage match I watched. I'm intrigued.
751-T. Chigusa Nagayo vs Akira Hokuto (AJW - 3/19/1989)
Total Points: 11
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: Kadaveri - 90
I need to see more of this period from Chigusa. Am I right in that she works differently in the late-80s to how she did during the mid-80s? Or have I pulled that out of nothing?
751-T. Sgt Slaughter & JYD vs Iron Sheik & Volkoff (WWF - 10/13/1984)
Total Points: 11
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: Elliott - 90
This absolutely rules. It's something I'd be more likely to vote for in a greatest WWF 100 than a greatest EVERYTHING 100, but I'm glad it got a vote (from the most obvious source).
