293. Do Fixer vs Blood Generation (ROH - 3/31/2006)
This feels like the most influential match of the last generation, and the funny thing is that outside of Dragon Gate, no other trios match since has really come close to matching what they did here.
285. Hiroshi Tanahashi vs Kazuchika Okada (NJPW - 1/4/2015)
This is always spoken of as being one of the best in their series, but I've never really understood that praise and see it as one of their worst
258-T. Kazuchika Okada vs Tomohiro Ishii (NJPW - 8/6/2016)
One of the all-time great G1 upsets. This fell off my list this year but I can easily see it creeping on next time
237. Daisuke Sekimoto vs Shuji Ishikawa (BJW - 3/31/2015)
Will probably vote for this next time. Shuji's control segments in this are nothing short of barbaric. At one point he does a rainmaker headbutt.
215. Kazuchika Okada vs Kenny Omega (NJPW - 6/11/2017)
On my last watch I came away thinking this was the 2nd best of their series. It paces itself better than WK and has the importance and has the grandiosity that their G1 match lacks
214. Johnny Gargano vs Andrade Almas (NXT - 1/27/2018)
A match so good that it made us all think Gargano was one of the best in the world
185. Daisuke Ikeda vs Takeshi Ono (Futen - 9/26/2010)
The best match under 5 minutes
175. Will Ospreay vs Kenny Omega (NJPW - 1/4/2023)
Monster finish considering it only happened 6 months ago
172. Daniel Bryan vs John Cena (WWE - 8/18/2013)
I've seen this about 4 or 5 times and it never hits on the level I expect it to
123. Bryan Danielson vs MJF (Iron Man - AEW - 3/5/2023)
Another monster finish, really didn't expect this one
111. LA Park vs Dr. Wagner Jr. (TXT - 5/11/2013) 110. El Hijo del Santo vs La Parka (Monterrey - 12/23/2001)
These two being back-to-back is lovely

121. Bret Hart vs Roddy Piper (WWF - 4/5/1992)
This one has skyrocketed up the rankings since last time, feels like there must be some reason but can't think of one?

Holy shit a lot of unexpected drops before the actual top 100. Some of the "not so great but still highly consideres" AJPW matches specifically, and even some HUGE fan favourites like Misawa/Akiyama or the NOAH Kobashi/Takayama match. So hyped to see which matches took over this time. Sadly Okada/Omega 4 will be at the list again Some day people will learn the truth.

181. Shawn Michaels vs Undertaker (WWE - 3/28/2010) Total Points: 208 # of Ballots: 4 High Vote: Tetsujin - 7
The Top 10 vote is awesome.
175. Will Ospreay vs Kenny Omega (NJPW - 1/4/2023) Total Points: 216 # of Ballots: 5 High Vote: dkuchler31096 - 14
123. Bryan Danielson vs MJF (Iron Man - AEW - 3/5/2023) Total Points: 333 # of Ballots: 7 High Vote: Gramsci - 24
Yep, great performances considering they happened just months ago. Well deserved too: The former is probably the best match I've seen come out of Japan in the last 4-6 years while the latter is my current MOTD.
145. Jushin Liger vs El Samurai (BOSJ Final - NJPW - 4/30/1992) Total Points: 271 # of Ballots: 5 High Vote: Microstatistics - 6
133-T. El Satanico vs Gran Cochisse (EMLL - 9/14/1984) Total Points: 304 # of Ballots: 5 High Vote: Cap - 26
122. Adrian Street vs Jim Breaks (JP - 2/12/1972) Total Points: 343 # of Ballots: 7 High Vote: Microstatistics - 29
A shame that these couldn't crack the main list like in years prior.
135. Kenta Kobashi vs Jun Akiyama (NOAH - 7/10/2004) Total Points: 304 # of Ballots: 4 High Vote: Microstatistics - 9
For this one, on the other hand, I am happy with where it landed. This seems to be a hit or miss: its fans really like it (supported by it making it this far on the strength of 4 ballots) while critics don't care for it much.
124. Mitsuharu Misawa vs Jun Akiyama (AJPW - 2/27/2000) Total Points: 330 # of Ballots: 7 High Vote: NintendoLogic - 27
120. Kenta Kobashi vs Mitsuharu Misawa (AJPW - 10/31/1998) Total Points: 357 # of Ballots: 7 High Vote: luke - 21
117. Kenta Kobashi vs Yoshihiro Takayama (NOAH - 4/25/2004) Total Points: 365 # of Ballots: 10 High Vote: NintendoLogic - 3
I'm surprised too that none of these made it.

531-T. Stan Hansen vs Toshiaki Kawada (AJPW - 4/6/1992) Total Points: 43 # of Ballots: 2 High Vote: madwizzzard - 68 531-T. Vader vs Tatsumi Fujinami (NJPW - 4/24/1989) Total Points: 43 # of Ballots: 2 High Vote: Puropotsy - 68 531-T. Jon Moxley vs Juice Robinson (NJPW - 6/5/2019) Total Points: 43 # of Ballots: 2 High Vote: Tetsujin - 68 This is incredibly statistically improbable.

I knew this was gonna get high up. I didn’t think it would be this close to the top 100, though. I noticed a lot of folks being high on this one lately. It’s gotten a lot of love in my Twitter circle the last year or so. I will probably always vote for it but I’m way lower than these newer votes.

500-T. Akira Hokuto and Aja Kong vs Dynamite Kansai and Yumiko Hotta (AJW - 8/24/1994)
Total Points: 50 # of Ballots: 1 High Vote: Microstatistics - 51 Considering how Joshi-friendly this community is, I'm surprised that I'm always the sole voter for this one. From what I remember, everything after it gets down to 2-on-1 is phenomenal but everything before that isn't as good. You putting it that high makes me want to re-watch it though

Lots of my favourite matches fell just short of the main list. Top 100 is hard to crack! From what I remember, everything after it gets down to 2-on-1 is phenomenal but everything before that isn't as good. You putting it that high makes me want to re-watch it though If you do, watch the complete version (https://www.veoh.com/watch/v14193900cScd6jhc), not the clipped one on Youtube which cuts out a lot of the build and intrigue. Yeah this is on my radar to consider for next time after you posted this link recently in the nomination thread. Great match!

Speaking for myself, it's a wonderful bit of self-contained WWF melodrama. Both guys do the escalation thing really well and I love the payoff to Piper's will-he-won't-he desperation.

Fell behind...
298. Gunther vs Sheamus vs Drew McIntyre (WWE - 4/2/2023) Total Points: 113 # of Ballots: 3 High Vote: Microstatistics – 59
I feel like I’m the low guy on this. I think it is awesome, but this kinda thing is so in my wheelhouse and it just didn’t strike me elite like it did for others. Another one to add to the rewatch list.
295-T. El Satanico vs Sangre Chicana (EMLL - 5/26/1989) Total Points: 114 # of Ballots: 3 High Vote: Microstatistics – 16
Two of the greatest brawlers in history in a match that feels a bit more like a bar fight than a wrestling match. I love that it got that top 20 vote.
286. Mayumi Ozaki vs Dynamite Kansai (AJW - 3/17/1995) Total Points: 121 # of Ballots: 6 High Vote: Cap – 55
Sad to see this one actually drop about 100 spots. This thing is absolutely unhinged. One of my favorites.
257. Mankind vs The Undertaker (Hell In A Cell - WWF - 6/28/1998) Total Points: 145 # of Ballots: 4 High Vote: conker – 23
I said this earlier, but I think this match is a but underrated because it is overshadowed by the two insane spots. It was pretty awesome even before it started raining Mick Foleys
248-T. Brock Lesnar vs Undertaker (Hell in a Cell - WWE - 10/20/2002) Total Points: 151 # of Ballots: 3 High Vote: mattsdmf – 33
This is probably still my favorite Hell in a Cell match. Brock Lesnar is pretty easily Taker’s best opponent to me.
233. Black Terry vs Wotan (Chilanga Mask - 8/21/2016) Total Points: 159 # of Ballots: 4 High Vote: puroraisedme – 21
Fuck yeah. Happy to see this one take a bit of a jump up from last year and super happy to not be the only person voting for it (not to mention not being the high vote).
217-T. Super Dragon vs Necro Butcher (PWG - 9/2/2006) Total Points: 170 # of Ballots: 4 High Vote: CFOS – 34
Bummer… A little slip for one of my personal favorites from 172 last year. I’ll always maintain that Joe v Necro is amazing, but this is the better match.
211. Yoshiaki Fujiwara vs Kazuo Yamazaki (UWF - 7/24/1989) Total Points: 179 # of Ballots: 5 High Vote: Control21 – 24
This match absolutely fucking rules. I watched it about a year ago for the first time and probably should watch it again. The older I get the more I realize Fujiwara is GOAT level.
184. Brock Lesnar vs Daniel Bryan (WWE - 11/18/2018) Total Points: 201 # of Ballots: 3 High Vote: conker – 13
Oh man, love to see that #13 rating. I’ve had it on my list, but took it off . I absolutely love the match, but it felt like they left a good bit on the table and never got to revisit it.
180. Vader vs Sting (WCW - 7/12/1992) Total Points: 208 # of Ballots: 5 High Vote: Andrew Lacelle – 1
Wow…. A #1 vote for this. I love it.
179. Gilbert Cesca vs Billy Catanzaro (France - 5/2/1957) Total Points: 210 # of Ballots: 3 High Vote: conker – 12
This match fell off my list only because I feel like I need to dig into French catch a bit more to make sense of it. I’ve said this for years, but I really need to get into it.
164. Cactus Jack vs Triple H (WWF - 1/23/2000) Total Points: 236 # of Ballots: 5 High Vote: el_wreino – 22
This is one of the best matches of the era. This is another that has fallen off my list. I always absolutely love it, but then I ultimately can’t get past the Rock’s run in. Still awesome stuff.
158-T. Buzz Sawyer vs Jim Duggan (Mid South - 11/11/1985) Total Points: 249 # of Ballots: 4 High Vote: mvz – 15
Another one I once had on my list. This has one of the two best post matches ever. It is this and Warrior/Savage from Mania. That one is emotional and this one is violent. This rules and everyone should see it.
147. Adam Page vs Bryan Danielson (AEW - 1/5/2022) Total Points: 268 # of Ballots: 7 High Vote: Gramsci – 14
Awesome to see this in the top 150 and seeing it get a top 15 vote. This absolutely rules, my favorite match from the past few years and that says a lot.
139. Naoki Sano vs Minoru Suzuki (PWFG - 7/26/1991) Total Points: 293 # of Ballots: 5 High Vote: andylfc – 4
HOLY SHIT! I’m not the high vote on this?! My dude Andy jumped the me. That is awesome.
130. Bryan Danielson vs Low-Ki (ROH - 3/30/2002) Total Points: 312 # of Ballots: 5 High Vote: Cap – 3
This jumped from #7 to #3 for me, which might not seem like a lot, but felt like a massive move in my head.
123. Bryan Danielson vs MJF (Iron Man - AEW - 3/5/2023) Total Points: 333 # of Ballots: 7 High Vote: Gramsci – 24
I was really curious where this would land and how many points it would have. I was one of those who voted for it. I was a little surprised it got this high… pleasantly surprised, but surprised.
118. CM Punk vs Eddie Kingston (AEW - 11/13/2021) Total Points: 363 # of Ballots: 7 High Vote: puroraisedme – 8
I didn’t vote for this one, but it is an absolute ripper. I can see myself coming around on it being top 100. I’m not sure what keeps it from being full marks for me, honestly. Every time I watch it I love it, but it feels like it is just below that to me.
101. Jaguar Yokota vs La Galactica (AJW 2/27/85) Total Points: 426 # of Ballots: 7 High Vote: Lemming – 7
Sort of sad to see this one falling out of the top 100.
