This was the “Texas Death Match” which is just a Last Man Standing match. Historically the most boring of all The gimmick matches.
These two made it work. They told a logical story, with Prince Nana getting a chance to get his dance over then Hangman busting in before his music even hits and then follows it up with a hell of a babyface shine to start.
Hangman drinking Swerve’s blood and spitting it into the air will be a visual that defines him.
I get annoyed at the pre doctored chairs and tables but it’s a trope I’ll have to make peace with. This is a match I absolutely adored.

This was fucking awesome and a top 3 match of the year, for sure. What a rivalry.

I expected very little from this match. Neither are very interesting wrestlers, Swerve is more flawed talent wise than Page but both bore me all the same. However, you could tell that this was their strength. It's funny because you can absolutely tell that Swerve and Adam Cole (I do mean Cole btw, I realise that it could be confusing if not clarified) were trained in CZW. Both decent at doing these sick spot matches but not very good in a straight bout. And Swerve was good in this, which isn't much of a surprise. Page found his element early in the match being a man possessed as he stalked Swerve around the ringside area, stapleling endlessly. The storytelling and spots themselves were awesome. What wasn't awesome was the pacing which again failed Page. There were long spells of boredom throughout and the match seemed to never end. That's the story of Hangman Page. He'll do something sick like drink blood but then he'll be the blandest guy when selling for the heel. Shame really.
