It's the end of the calendar year and so let's publish our awards for the year 2023. Just a list of ideas: - Your top matches of the year
- The wrestler of the year
- Best wrestling show/PPV of the year
- Worst wrestler of the year
- Most overrated match/es of year
Of course, you can post whatever you want, you don't need to stick to any guidelines. The above are just ideas .

I have not seen many matches which took place this year, but my vote for match-of-the-year would be Kenny Omega v Konosuke Takeshita at All Out 2023; followed by the underrated 4 v 4 Like A Dragon Street Fight on AEW Dynamite; followed by Darby v Cage @ WrestleDream; followed by MJF v Kenny Omega on Collision.
Wrestler of the year for me has to be Kenny Omega. I don't think any wrestler had close to a better year .
Worst wrestlers of the year: Bayley, Randy Orton, Bo Dallas, that English guy in the Brawling Brutes faction. All English wrestlers.
Best PPV, I have no idea, but All In at Wembley is probably the most bump-heavy single-night PPV I've ever seen. So many nice bumps in that PPV, so it gets my vote.

Joe v. Punk from All In is the only match I’m really gonna think about after this year.

MOTY is Miz vs Shane McMahon vs Snoop Dogg. Runners up were Chikayo Nagashima vs Mio Momono 5/3/23 and Jeff Jarrett vs Orange Cassidy 3/15/23
Wrestler of the Year for in ring was Orange Cassidy
All Out on 9/3/23 had 5 matches on it that I liked which feels like a lot for modern day big shows.
Pass on the two negative categories.

I don’t like year end discussions.
All Out was a consistently good show and Double or Nothing was the worst ppv I have ever paid for.
I don’t like WOTY discussion because I’m only going to pick my favorite wrestlers every time.
And worst wrestlers? I don’t watch bad wrestlers.

MOTY for me is Bryan/Rush
As far as the other categories I'm not really sure.

Honestly, the two matches I enjoyed the most with the least reservation -- by which I mean, matches I loved without thinking they had significant flaws which I loved them despite of -- were the Acclaimed vs. Jeff Jarrett/Jay Lethal tag matches earlier in the year.
For me I think the 2023 MOTY is probably the worst MOTY of any year I can think of going back to the 70s, whatever it is. Even 2020 had the Best Friends vs. Santana/Ortiz parking lot brawl, and the Danielson/Gulak Elimination Chamber match.

The MOTY is either MJF/Bryan, Nomura/Abe or the Hangman/Swerve texas deathmatch. Nothing else comes close, although there have been a lot of really great matches as well. But those three are GME list worthy.
As for the WOTY, I was going to say MJF but the devil stuff starts to hurt him, sadly. So it's probably either Danielson (injury and all) or Ospreay. I still need to watch a lot of Astronauts stuff because probably Nomura and/or Abe deserve consideration as well, though.
Show of the year is easy for me. I went to Wembley. Six hours of nonstop excitement, and the sense of making history added a lot to the experience as well. There's probably better AEW PPVs this year, but I can't pretend to try to objective with this one.

For some reason I always forget them when thinking of my 2023 MOTYCs, but those first two Collision main events, the multi-man tags with Punk and FTR would rank very highly for me. Honestly one of them might be my MOTY.
I also liked Daniel Garcia vs. Brody King last night tremendously.

Fuminori Abe vs. Takuya Nomura - We Are Fighting Detectives 10/12/23 5. Adam Page vs. Jon Moxley - AEW Revolution 6. Mayumi Ozaki vs. Mio Momono - Marvelous 8/7/23 7. Cash Wheeler/Dax Harwood vs. Jay White/Juice Robinson (2/3 Falls) - AEW Collision 7/8/23 8. Arisa Nakajima vs. Sareee - SEAdLINNNG 8/25/23 9. Arisu Endo/Miu Watanabe/Moka Miyamoto/Suzume/Yuki Arai vs. Miyu Yamashita/Mizuki/Rika Tatsumi/Shoko Nakajima/Yuka Sakazaki (2/3 Falls) - TJPW 12/1/23 10. Chad Gable vs. Gunther - WWE Raw 9/4/23
I'll have to do a bit of more watching to decide WOTY but I'm pretty sure by top 3 in some order are Bryan Danielson, Gunther & Mio Momono.

I actually totally forgot about that 2/3 falls FTR match. The night I watched it I thought it was MOTY. Maybe the fact that I haven't thought about it in a couple months says it isn't, but I should rewatch it.

MOTY is unquestionably Abe-Nomura for me. Deep personal connections to a match will do that. Danielson & Mio had incredible years so I'll say oe of them as my WOTY. Best show of the year is KTDan by a mile, never left me bored or not enjoying myself, but watching it at 6 in the morning will do that. Worst Wrestler of the Year for me is probably MJF or Jericho. The Pillars Four way actively made me stop watching wrestling for like a week. Cole-MJF was at least funny bad so I can't be too mad about it.
