By “conceptually perfect,” I mean the wrestlers involved accomplish everything they envisioned and it works just as well in practice as it does on paper.
Shining examples of this for me are Danielson vs. Morishima from Final Battle 2008, Antonio Inoki vs. Genichiro Tenryu (the match that sent me on this quest), Brock Lesnar vs. Finn Balor from the Rumble in 2019, and Jun Akiyama vs. Katsuyori Shibata. Invader #1 vs. Al Perez is probably the purest example of what I’m talking about, though. The famous FMW Texas Death tag could make the list on a rewatch, but those are my main picks. What else fits in that category to you?

This is kind of hard to answer considering at the end of the day we don't know for sure what the wrestlers envisioned, but some that come to mind are Chigusa/Devil in 85, Tamura/Kohsaka in 98, and Hokuto and Kandori/Aja and Bull in 94.

Chigusa/Devil Masami was one that definitely came to mind.
I don’t think a match needs to be perfect according to those who created it but to those who watch it and appreciate it. Is everything that’s presented have a logical payoff?

I don't really think a match can be perfect at all but considering pillars' definition of the wrestlers accomplishing everything they set to achieve, that more implies being perfect to those who created it. I'm sure many wrestlers have worked awful matches that they viewed as perfect and similarly many fantastic matches have been worked that the wrestlers didn't personally feel satisfied by.
Maybe the best answer to this is the top end matches of a guy like Randy Savage who carefully planned out every spot of his matches? I don't think you can get more accomplishing everything envisioned than that.

That is the hardest part of trying to figure out how to describe what I’m trying to portray because we don’t know their intentions behind a match. When they’re done well enough though, you can tell what the people in the match imagined it as in their head almost. Tamura-Kohsaka is literally exactly what I’m looking for, need to check out Chigusa/Devil again. |
