Eddie Kingston vs Mike Quackenbush (Chikara - 11/13/2011)
Okay, I'm throwing one out there that might get a lukewarm reaction.
This is probably the biggest match in Chikara history as it's to crown their first ever champion. This match pulls off a big title match atmosphere in a big way. It feels big league, it feels important. The roster gathering around the ring and cheering both men on adds a great element to this. Quackenbush goes heel for this match and attacks Kingston's injured knee for most of the match. This match is easily the creative height of Chikara.

When mentioned on PWO as a match that may not deserve a nomination I was sort of floored. Not saying the person is biased or that this group of people is biased in any general way, we are all biased to an extent, but to say one of the quintessential indie title matches of the decade doesn't deserve a mention seems off. Hoping this decade for non-major promotions doesn't get lost. If there is an indie title match that feels more like a championship match, I haven't seen it. There may be better put together, smoother, more awe inspiring title matches but nothing has ever brought the feeling of stakes like Kingston vs. Quackenbush. No two men are as tied to CHIKARA outside of maybe Claudio.I have a longer review in me, the match deserves it, but I can't picture my ballot without this match.
PS Watching the Kingston promo from Road to High Noon, Google it, is a near essential before watching the match itself. Hard not to be invested after it.

That was me actually. I am considering for my list. I think it's a match that deserves discussion and consideration for the reasons you mentioned. I was reserved about nominating it mostly because I figured people just hadn't watched it.

I am going to consider this a 3rd.
I watched this a few months back for the first time (haven't watched a ton of Chikara) and this seems like a slam dunk nominee. I would be shocked if this made my list, but its about as good as it gets when it comes to drama and emotion. Kingston is such an underrated wrestler. He is a full blown star here and Quack plays this exactly as he should. I could see this sneaking on my list in one of those final 5 spots that are mostly going to be my favorites.

Eddie Kingston vs Mike Quackenbush (Chikara Grand Championship – 12 Large Summit Final – Chikara – 4/6/2011) Current Rank: NA Trending: Up
This is a match that has sat right outside my list for some time now. I rewatched it a few months back and loved it more than ever, but stopped just short of adding it to my top 100. But it is also a match that always sticks in my brain. I saw someone hype it up on twitter today and thought, fuck it… I’ll add it to this little rewatch today because I would much rather watch Eddie Kingston than grade papers. This is a match creeps a little closer to my list every time because every time I watch it. My qualms become less important and the things that I love about wrestling shine through. It is probably Kingston’s best non-brawl-forward performance. His leg selling and the timing of his comeback were great. Quackenbush somehow pulls off this role despite not really fitting the part to me. I’ve never been the high guy on Quack (even before controversy struck), but his grappling has its place in wrestling. I think he did the best he could to pull off this final boss ethos between the ropes. Everything is elevated by all the context (which is laid out in a not too obnoxious way) and the drama feels weighty 10 years after the fact. I’m not sure it actually gets on the list, but I may find a spot for it at 99 or 100.

Not a fan at all. I watched the big promo too and it didn't help. That Kingston is 2nded by Tommy Dreamer & cosplaying as Kawada really sums it all up for me.
