• Sting's retirement match at Revolution.
• Darby delivers the most insane bump I've seen him do - even more dangerous than the Jeff Hardy ladder spot. This was a brush with death. Excellent excellent bump.
• This was a very sports entertainment match, and I suppose this helped the match to mask the evergreen Sting's weaknesses.
• At time of writing (about 90 minutes since the match ended), this match had a Cagematch rating of 9.38 from 51 votes. But this is more of a 3-star match than a 5-star match. The significance of this being Sting's "retirement match", coupled with some memorable moments, will get this match more praise than more deserving matches, but it certainly was a fun match. I wish Rey vs Dom at WM 39 was this good.
• Small side-note: a bizarre omission of any flippy-flippy moves from The Bucks.

One of my favorite builds post-Punk. I love the Bucks as heels.
I love how Darby was integral to the match, has the craziest spot of the match but for the most part stayed out of the way.
I’m sure I have a lot more to say about it but right now I’m gonna absolutely 3rd it.

Yes. This one. Best AEW match of all time.

It was good, but some of the high spots took me out of it. Like what was the point of Darby throwing himself into chairs and glass like a stuntman? When people talk about the "Marvelification" of modern wrestling, I think this is what they mean. It served no point other than for cheap cinematic effect. Okay, I'll get off my soap box now.

One of the most absoluta insane matches I've ever seen, from start to finish. A perfect retirement for Sting.
I'll definitely vote for this next time. Very highly. It's the most special match I've seen since Okada/Shibata.

A perfect retirement for Sting. 100% agree with this. The match was a wonderful celebration of Sting's career. I wouldn't think of it for this kind of list, but does have me questioning why not as it was about everything one could reasonably expect from Sting's retirement.

An old Ditch quote feels like a pretty apt description of this match. “The pre-match is absolutely awesome. The match is ok. The post-match is absolutely awesome.”

2024 has been a tease so far. There were points where this looked like it was going to take MOTY honors for the violent action and theater but, cumulatively, there was just too much downtime across segments, especially after the hip toss into the glass pane.
Darby was Darby with the glass spot but Sting wasn't far behind and took bumps that were absurd for a man in his mid-60s. The Bucks' heel shtick also was quite enjoyable. A worthy retirement match but it needed some more substance to crack the top tier.
