Lucha's a style that's never clicked with me.
But I want to give it another go.
Last night I watched and thoroughly enjoyed the April 1997 Torneo Cibernetico match.
Any recommendations on what I should watch next?

Thank you. Elliot also recommended a lot of stuff in his thread. Can't believe I forgot that, thanks. I used it for my joshi watching. This one needs more opinions. I'll give it a go, thanks. Thanks for the recommendation.

Lucha was (and sometimes still is) difficult for me too. In the end, you feel more in peace when you just accept that 9/10 referees are gonna fucking suck, and that 9/10 two out of three falls matches are gonna be structured exactly the same.
It depends of what you're looking for, really. Overbooked lucha brawls are not my thing, unless they feature L.A. Park, who is amazing. Lucha matwork really rocks when they don't just exchange holds for the sake of it, and I always enjoy Hijo del Santo or Negro Casas in those kind of matches. I trust anything that comes out of any of those three. Oh, and obviously famous names that you probably enjoy like Eddie Guerrero or Rey Mysterio Jr had early work there, so maybe you can use their matches as your gate (they're very young and not at their peak obviously, but they're still familiar faces and pretty good workers).
Tríos matches are usually fun and I often enjoy them more than singles, I noticed that lucha beginners tend to focus mainly on singles stuff and with lucha that's doing no favor at all, as tríos are such integral part of their wrestling culture.
I wouldn't watch any apuestas match if I had not seen some of its build up, it totally helps to appreciate it more because, more often than not, if you take the personal connection out of an apuestas match you will just feel it as another random lucha match with all the clichés you're seeing, or you won't get most of the callbacks they tend to put on them and feel linda random otherwise (there are exceptions to the rule, obviously).
Those are some tips and mindsets that helped me connect more with lucha libre. I'm no expert, and obviously what I like doesn't have to be what you like, but as a person who also struggled (a lot) with mexican wrestling at first, maybe we share some traits.

Here are my favorites. The prevalence of Santo and Satanico is not a coincidence, I think they are in their own tier when it comes to lucha.
Matwork-based Title Matches
Mocho Cota vs. Americo Rocca (EMLL, 1/27/1984)
El Satanico vs. Gran Cochise (EMLL, 9/14/1984)
El Hijo del Santo vs. Espanto Jr. (UWA, 4/10/1988)
Pirata Morgan vs. Brazo de Oro (EMLL, 11/17/1989)
El Dandy vs. Angel Azteca (EMLL, 6/1/1990)
El Hijo del Santo vs. Felino (Monterrey, 3/8/1998) - Frequently listed as 10/18/1998
El Satanico vs. Lizmark (CMLL, 7/14/1998) - I'd be interested in your thoughts on this match since it's the most polarizing one on this list
Rey Hechicero vs. Charles Lucero (Monterrey, 8/4/2013)
Brawls and/or Wager Matches
El Satanico vs. Atlantis (EMLL, 1/20/1984)
El Hijo del Santo vs. Espanto Jr. (Monterrey, 8/31/1986)
El Satanico vs. Sangre Chicana (EMLL, 5/26/1989)
