Team ROH (Ace Steel, Adam Pearce, BJ Whitmer, Bryan Danielson, Homicide, & Samoa Joe) vs Team CZW (Chris Hero, Claudio Castagnoli, Eddie Kingston, Nate Webb, & Necro Butcher) (Cage of Death - ROH Death Before Dishonor IV - 07/15/2006)
This is probably the best ROH match of all time, and almost certainly the best CZW match of all time. It's the perfect example of how to blow off a ton of feuds at once, but it still manages to work without the context as just a hugely violent spectacle. Everyone plays their roles to perfection, and everyone is willing to die for our entertainment.

A masterpiece of indie booking, harnessing the smarky passion of the fans and bringing to an absolute boiling point. The heat in this match nuclear and the crowd atmosphere is as much a part of this match as anything happening in-ring. Historic post-match segment adds to what is probably the absolute finest indie spectacle of all time.

I'll third this.
A war between both sides perfectly booked. You have Bryan Danielson taking out a challenger to his ROH World Championship over ROH, the violence and brutal bumps by Necro Butcher (who else?) and Nate Webb. ***** and my 2006 MOTY.

Before watching this match I was curious how they'd be able to keep up with all of the action but they did a tremendous job and never once did I feel like I was lost or unable to keep up with the action. Great story of the conquering hero returning to even up the odds and the more violent spots were teased and built up perfectly.

Yeah, this feels like a top 3 match in ROH history. The booking of it all is of course impressive, and everyone brought it with the wild and crazy shit; nobody more so than Nate Webb, who took a few absolutely insane bumps and got slaughtered so thoroughly that you feel like you ought to go buy yourself a Nate Webb career comp from somewhere out of sheer gratitude. Hero and Kingston bickering just before Homicide's music hits might be the coolest moment of the match, but I'm partial to Ace Steele smashing Hero in the head with a cow bell as my favourite. That the finish might have been the nastiest spot of a match filled with nasty shit is fairly impressive/nuts. Both this and the big brawl from The 100th Show will probably land next to each other on my list.

Bumping this because I feel like this match has been underrated here.

It just wouldn't end. I enjoyed Homicide's entrance & the way he carried himself but this is a big ol mess.

As a non-fan of both ROH and CZW I enjoyed this more than I expected to. Some neat mini-stories keep things moving, and the crowd (for once) improved the atmosphere. Loved how filthy everything looked. Loved the sense of chaos with stuff going off all over the place and as a viewer you just sorta lose yourself in it. My only peeve is it went on too long. After Homicide came out the match had told it's story and could done with ending sooner.
