So this is an area where I don't think I would nominate any of them or put them on a list...
but I feel that this genre deserves to be explored and matches deserve mention that are good to great.
I'll kick us off with my person favorite. Minoru Suzuki vs. Mecha Mummy. What's not to love about Mecha Mummy, he comes with accessories for certain attacks. I laugh my ass off when he puts the wings on to attack from the top rope. And it's a brilliant touch that he gets shorted out by water. Aside from being comedy, this is actually a really great match. You have Suzuki working the leg and Mecha Mummy getting back into things after blinding him with powder. You eventually have Suzuki just go fuck it and use a bottle of water to take him out.

We need to have threads like this as this process goes along so we're actually debating and comparing matches rather than talking over each other. I'll give this a watch.
My suggestion for this would be Minoru Suzuki vs. Toru Yano at last year's G1 Climax. It's not gonna make my list, but it's very entertaining and I laughed throughout it. I don't usually like comedy matches at all as they're too nonsensical for me, but there weren't any major logic problems with this. Yano's a former amateur wrestler and his pins always look good, he's just shit at everything else coz he's lazy and would rather be selling DVDs than actually fighting someone. He's such a contrast to Suzuki who loves hurting people. So it's hilarious that he keeps finding ways to cheat and someone beat Suzuki, who is getting more and more infuriated every time that this clown has his number.

Surely a subcategory of this has to be midget matches?

Yeah, go for it. I would love to watch some good midget matches. There is actually lots and one has already been nominated. I pondered nominating WeeLC last night.

The Ebessan vs Kuishinbo Kamen 2 out of 3 falls match is absolutely the greatest comedy match of all time, and deserves serious consideration as one of the top 100 matches ever.
I love Ken the Box and Survival Tobita, as well... But don't think their matches have any chance of making my list.

I love the JJ Dillon vs Alan Martin match that takes place during the build to WarGames. The horsemen really pump JJ up before the match and JJ runs through each horseman’s finisher. I even loved it as a kid and I never get tired of it. I try to watch it once a year and it always cracks me up.

No mention of Les Kellett vs. Johnny Czeslaw? I'm a stone faced no fun allowed prick and that match had me rolling.

They are too long for what they are but there are some really funny moments in those DDT campground brawls.

Almost anything involving Toru Yano is a must-watch. So many of his matches are hilarious while simultaneously really good because of his tremendous psychology. The A.J. Styles match from the 2015 G-1 and the Kenny Omega match from this past year's G-1 are probably the best comedy matches I've ever seen.
The Tokyo Dome empty arena match is also great. And while Grimmas mentioned WeeLC with good reason, I also enjoyed the "hair vs. tail" match as well.

THE FINAL DELETION!
Chuck Taylor vs Kikutaro at PWG in 2016 was tons of fun. Also WeeLC. And I need to name HBK/Hogan, even if it's not an intended comedy match.

Does Rick Martel v. Terry Funk from Puerto Rico count? It's by far the match with comedy that is central to the story that I most enjoy, but it's not necessarily a "comedy style" match. If that doesn't count my answer might be Cowanbunga v. Cornette but I'm not sure that counts as a "comedy match" either.

Andre the Giant/Franz Van Buyten/Ali Bey vs. Isamu Teranishi/Rusher Kimura/Thunder Sugiyama (IWE 5/2/1972) belongs on this list as well. The stuff that Van Buyten and Andre come up with is constantly funny, as Andre mistakenly thinks Van Buyten is double-crossing him. Creative, clever, and laugh-out-loud funny
