When people talk about two guys just beating the shit out of each other, this is the match that people should be referring to. Other than Brock Lesnar, a match that perhaps no one else was capable of having. The match is dragged down by a piss poor WWE crowd (what else is new) and an overbooked finish, but up until that point everything is pure gold. I'd say it's a lock for my list, even if it eventually slips to the bottom half.

This match has been at the bottom of the nomination thread for so long, I figured I would give it a shot. A hot start and some memorable spots throughout. The crowd really is lousy, but they eventually get them on their side to where if Reigns had won they would have gone bonkers. A credit to both guys, but the big spots lose their impact the longer this goes on and the booking and finish is so frustrating.

This ran a bit too long and had a really lousy finish. ...But I remember really liking this despite that! Both guys put in really good selling performances and brought a level of violence not common to WWE in this era. Credit to them for getting an apathetic crowd cheering for Roman by the end.

The rematch on RAW, the very next day, is a much better match than this one, everyone should give it a try. It's so good it made the Philly crowd cheer for Reigns (the same crowd that cursed his career eleven months earlier at the Rumble).

I thought this was pretty disappointing. Not crazy about the gimmick.
