Steve Veidor vs Gwyn Davies (Joint Promotions - 5/26/1976)
I'm the worst person to nominate British matches because I haven't seen nearly enough stuff. I've only ever seen this particular match once and only really remember thinking it was my favorite British match. Really just a match I wanted to nominate to force myself to watch it again and see what others think about it.

I really like this, Davies' performance is excellent he feels so hateable even though he doesn't really cheat or anything. This has a real sense of drama and escalation that I sometimes find lacking in World of Sport matches, even if it may not have some of the flashy matwork. A finish that left me pissed off in the best possible way.
****1/4 Seconded

This is probably the first British match I ever saw and I really enjoyed it. I’ve seen others since then (though like others who have posted would like to see more) but this one set the bar high and I don’t know it has been surpassed. (I loved Jim Breaks vs Adrian Street too.) They hooked me on with storytelling and a great face-heel dynamic. I was engaged in the action and invested in the finish. I’d love for others to watch and consider for their lists.

I'm about 20 matches in to my first proper dive into WOS and so far I've enjoyed pretty much every match.
This might not *quite* be my favourite so far (that's Breaks-Street) but it probably is the most dramatic. I've been thinking about it a lot since watching which is usually a sign of a great match. Loved both wrestlers in this and it's the hottest I've heard the crowd in WoS so far.
