Most recent WWE either frustrated me, bores me, or feels overcooked and unnatural.
I unreservedly love a handful of NXT matches (e.g. The Revival vs. #DIY 2/3 Falls in Toronto), but over the past few years there is only one WWE match with a real shot at my list and it is this sublime combination of old school tag team psychology with state-of-the-art action. (Admittedly, there is a lot of recent WWE I have not seen).
What actually makes the match for me is the performance of Xavier Morton... sorry, I mean Xavier Kikuchi... just great, great selling and face-in-peril work, and the immense struggle he goes through to make the hot tag just absolutely warms my heart. Once Big E gets the tag, the action really picks up, but it never gets overblown. Somehow, New Day's double teams feel like team-work while the Usos' double teams feel like cheating.
And even though Usos are clearly the bad guys and the bad guys win... you kind of feel like they have earned it.
Psychology, storytelling, structure, and drama in a recent WWE match. Caught me by surprise. I love it!

Seconded, even though I am not sure it would make my list. I probably like the HIAC match more but this match has the clean status of "best WWE preshow match ever". Plus, the pop-up Samoan drop on the floor is a truly astonishing and memorable spot that arguably other great Usos and great New Day matches lack.

Third. A really great match. Probably no chance on this making my personal list. Possibly behind WeeLC as the best WWE Network pre show match. Great stuff by both teams.

It’s somehow scarier that way.

Wes Craven’s Curry favour with Nightmare is my favorite film in the Nightmare on Elm Concourse series.
