AJPW, WWE, and NJPW will probably make up the bulk of my list but I'm really hoping to dive more into AJW, NOAH, Memphis, CMLL/EMLL, and WWC.

These are the four promotions that will have the most matches on my list...
1. AJPW (about 30 matches) 2. AJW (about 17 matches) 3. WWF (about 17 matches) 4. NJPW (about 12 matches)

I am guessing it will be either AJPW, AJW, or CMLL. WWE/F might end up with more than I anticipate in my brain right now.
Once its all said and done I would be interested in calculating which promotion has the most matches in my list in comparison to how long they actually existed. Which promotion with a relatively short life span has good representation on people's list and our overall results.

There will actually be a lot less WWE matches on my final ballot than I thought. Some stuff didn't quite hold up on re-watches but I did rediscover some old matches I hadn't seen in a while. Still, I'm not expecting more than 12-13 matches at most.

I've been watching a ton of Crockett for the PTBN JCP/WCW project and is absolutely staggering how many matches I'll end up giving strong consideration to the next time around. I've got 17 matches that if we were turning in a ballot today would be absolute stone cold locks for my top 100 and at worst 2 of my top 3 overall. But then there's another like 35 or so matches I will strongly consider voting for. For example none of the 89 Flair/Steamboat matches, Vader/Sting matches or 90s War Games matches or Rey Jr matches are among my "17 stone cold locks" and its not like those matches can just be outright dismissed.
I guess I would say the way I feel about mid 80s-mid 90s JCP/WCW is the way most people feel about 90s AJPW or modern day NJPW, I just kind of forgot over the years. The lack of an 80s set for JCP means I haven't gone back and done a real focused deep dive on Crockett in forever and I forgot how much great shit there is happening all at once. Flair vs Garvin is happening at the same time as MX vs RnRs and MX vs Road Warriors and its about to spill right into Flair vs Morton and meanwhile there's random singles & tag matches featuring Dusty, Ron Garvin, Magnum TA, Arn, Tully, Manny Fernandez, Wahoo and it is just fucking bonkers.
Matches from JCP/WCW that will absolutely make my next top 100: Ricky Steamboat & Jay Youngblood vs Sgt Slaughter & Don Kernodle - Cage Match Final Conflict 3/12/83 Roddy Piper vs Greg Valentine - 7/9/83 Roddy Piper vs. Greg Valentine – Dog Collar Match Starcade 11/24/1983 Ric Flair vs Ricky Steamboat - Boogie Jam 3/17/84 Rock n' Roll Express vs The Russians - 7/9/85 Tully Blanchard vs Magnum TA - I Quit Cage Match Starrcade 11/28/85 Dusty Rhodes & Wahoo McDaniel vs Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard - Strap and Bullrope Match - 3/30/86 Ric Flair vs Ron Garvin - Cage Match 3/30/86 Tully Blanchard vs Ron Garvin - 5/3/86 Ric Flair vs Ricky Morton - Cage Match 7/5/86 WarGames - 7/4/87 Ric Flair vs Ron Garvin - Cage Match 9/25/87 Ric Flair vs Terry Funk - 7/23/89 Midnight Express vs Rock n' Roll Express - 2/25/90 Nasty Boys vs Cactus Jack & Maxx Payne - Street Fight 4/17/94 Dustin Rhodes vs Bunkhouse Buck - Bunkhouse Match 4/17/94 Steven Regal vs Fit Finlay - 3/24/96
It is more likely that there will be more matches added to this list than will be taken off. I'm still in 1986 on my rewatch list and haven't even made it to the Flair/Morton feud. So it seems pretty probable that I'm going to end up with an insane amount of Crockett/WCW on my next top 100.

I re-watched Steamboat-Rude recently and it has a really good chance to make my next ballot. Two of the best selling performances ever.

I re-watched Steamboat-Rude recently and it has a really good chance to make my next ballot. Two of the best selling performances ever. I actually rewatched that not too too long ago and it wound up getting bumped up to 5 stars and is a lock on my list. It made it last time, but otherwise might have gotten knocked off because I have been adding quite a few as a result of the last ballot.
