Breathtaking stuff, I think there is a solid argument for this being the best juniors rivalry in wrestling history. The stuff they were doing felt like the future of wrestling while it was going on, but it turned out that they were the only guys who could do it. The opening Kung Fu movie battles between these two are always incredible, this was one of the coolest, I loved Ki head butting Red's fist on the punch, who the fuck thinks of that, but they kept it up the whole match. Just mind bending physics throughout, there is this crazy knuckle lock sequence which has Ki throwing elbows in the corner, while having his knuckles locked, Red hits a La Mistica style DDT as fast as I have ever seen it. There is some real textbook Ki brutality, he obliterates Red with a kappo kick and nearly rips his body in half with the Ki clutch. The two lost legends of 21st century wrestling, this should have been on a Dome show or at Wrestlemania, but it was great to see in a random gym in Pennsylvania.

Mild 2nd. Didn't think this was their best match but it's really good indy junior wrestling
Borderline great match well worth powering through the absolutely awful commentary. They worked a slightly more intricate version of their usual match here, adding some especially cool counters and cut offs to the mix. The main reason the work between these two guys ages well is that instead of building to thigh slapping flying knee strikes or Go 2 Sleep variations they add stiff kicks to the chest and nasty turnbuckle bumps to the mix. Note how violent something like Kis hair pulling toss felt not to mention the headbutts. Could've gone longer but I guess that's a good thing.

Thirded. Yes the strikes were violent and the counters were cool but i didnt feel any real structure.anyway ki vs red is as good as us juniors wrestling is the execution never felt hollow and was perfect.the match building into violence was fun.but it just wasnt that good tbh felt like a futen undercard match with flashiness which is great and all but indeed the commentary was awful not any real structure or escalation hurt it tbh. Solid contender and a very good match match perfectly not any real faults but the work wasnt all time great so its not that great 79 percent and perfectly good but not a contender

Just watched this last night for the first time I think. It was really really good. Its probably just under real consideration for me. It is violent and Ki is particularly zeroed here here. I think his dominance in spots really let Red shine when the time was right. This built really really well. I also feel like it could have gone just a touch longer for my liking. It is probably honestly a better match than their more famous ROH bout, but it probably will not stick in the memory quite as well either.
Side note, this is the only match I can think of where I had to mute it for the commentary. It was the absolute dirt fucking worst.

I don't think this is their best match, but it's their usual outrageously great match. This is one of the great junior heavyweight rivalries ever imo.
