1991-01-15 Toshiaki Kawada vs. Akira Taue (AJPW @ Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan) These two would become one of the most successful tag teams ever. In January 1991, they were still feuding. This was a tremendous match and highly recommended for Kawada & Taue fans (and All Japan fans in general). This match truly was one of the highlights of the Kawada vs. Taue feud. They showed hatred for each other and there was even some blood.

Second
I would also recommend this for folks who aren't necessarily AJPW fans. This one has some bloody brawl qualities to it that I think often the 90s AJPW stuff is lacking, or is at least not focused on. In that, this one stands out a bit to me. Really great match. I am not sure it makes my list at any point, but it is in the discussion for sure.

Third. Strong brawling and hatred but Kawada's poor selling of the knee work hurt this badly.

This match is just right. It has just the right amount of action in and out of the ring, just the right amount of blood and just the right amount of shine for both guys. About the only thing it didn’t have enough of was tsuppari slaps from Taue, but even the fact that he could only crank off a couple spoke to the struggle. This really works well in my current chronological watch of big AJPW matches and builds well in their journey together.

I voted this #85 this year.
One of the best "pure fun" matches from 90s AJPW, as it's essentially a sprint to the finish with lots of mauling to enjoy en route. Taue bleeds early which makes for some great visuals and he shows a lot of fire fighting through kicks from Kawada to land bloody headbutts of his own. Finish is maybe a bit sudden, but helped put over Kawada's lariat to the back of the head as a killer. His leg is too injured to hit a powerbomb or backdrop so needed to find something to get him out of Dodge.
