1991-08-26 Bret Hart vs. Mr. Perfect [WWF Intercontinental Championship] (WWF SummerSlam @ Madison Square Garden in New York City, NY) This is from SummerSlam 1991, which took place at Madison Square Garden. Gorilla Monsoon, Bobby Heenan and Roddy Piper are the commentators. ‘Mr. Perfect’ Curt Hennig defends the WWF Intercontinental Championship against Bret Hart. Hennig is managed by ‘Coach’ John Tolos, a Greek-Canadian wrestler from Hamilton, ON who was a successful tag team wrestler (along with his brother Chris Tolos) in the 1950s and 1960s. Stu, Helen and Bruce Hart are live in attendance for this match. I’m sure this will be in my top 100 Greatest Matches Ever. It's an amazing and historical match. This was the match that saw Bret Hart receive his first real strong push as a singles star in the WWF.

This feels like it should already have a second and a third. It wont make my list, but this is cannon, esp in American wrestling.

Thirded. This is my favorite WWF match of the 1990's. I think it's actually underrated due to the attention given to SummerSlam '92 and Wrestlemania 13
