1993-07-31 Dynamite Kansai & Mayumi Ozaki & Cuty Suzuki & Hikari Fukuoka vs. Aja Kong & Kyoko Inoue & Takako Inoue & Sakie Hasegawa [60-minute match] (JWP Thunder Queen Battle @ Yokohama Bunka Taiikukan in Yokohama, Japan) JWP vs. AJW. The team with the most falls wins the match. The match started off with four one-on-one matches and then turned into an 8-woman tag. The winning team would be the team that scored the most falls in total during this 60-minute match. This was at the height of the inter-promotional era. It was a big match between four of the biggest stars from Zenjo and four of the biggest stars from JWP.
The pairings for the one-on-one matches were great. It started off with Sakie Hasegawa and Hikari Fukuoka, who were probably the lowest ranked participants and they wanted to prove themselves to show that they were ready to climb the ladder of success. The next pairing was between Takako Inoue and Cuty Suzuki, who were the two beauty idols of this match. They are also great wrestlers, of course. The next pairing was Kyoko Inoue and Mayumi Ozaki, who were two of the hardest working wrestlers in the world at the time and they showed why they were known for their high workrate at the time. The final one-on-one pairing was Aja Kong and Dynamite Kansai, who were the two big powerhouses of the teams.
After those four one-on-one matches, which lasted five minutes each, the match turned into an 8-woman tag. It's an exciting and memorable match, in my opinion.

Second this. Thunder Queen is exhausting to watch but in a good way because of the flow of the match. It helps if you have seen the JWP vs AJW matches in the past 6 months of 1993 to get how this built up but the match itself is unforgettable. Also it adds that this was in JWP as they were the indie promotion up against the big bad AJW organization.

Third. Famous match that has taken a hit in rep in recent years. I watched it within the last couple of years and thought it was clearly a great match, but it isn't something I'm considering. I don't think it touches the big NJPW Gauntlet and Elimination matches of the 80s. I prefer the best of M-Pro. Even the JWP 4x4 1 count match. The Cibernetico. The 2001 Infierno en el Ring. WarGames. I'll have a ton of big multi-person matches on my list so this just doesn't make the cut for me. But I wouldn't sneer at anyone for giving this a vote. It is great match that culminates with the biggest moment of Mayumi Ozaki's career. I whole-heartedly support that. I'll also never forget Aja ducking a Kansai high kick and crushing her to death with a uraken. One of my all time favorite spots.

Fourth. 60-minute match that flies by with not a single dull moment. The four singles pairings were perfect, and the match beyond with JWP a point down for a good chunk of the match made for a compelling story, with the JWP side desperate to level, and the AJW side keeping things at a steady pace and not allowing JWP to get into their groove. Aja Kong deserves special mention for her performance in this, it was utterly fantastic.

Definitely one of those "there is so much happening for so long it's hard to keep up" but it's still an awesome match. The fact they were able to work at such a pace without the match devolving into a complete mess is amazing.

Watched this again. It's become vastly underrated over the last 20 years. Incredible match and a hell of a moment.

I am a sucker for multi-person spectacles so this was right up my alley. Plus I am a big fan of most of the wrestlers in this match and they all loved up to any expectations I had. Well thought out without feeling contrived and I absolutely loved it. I wanted to watch this before this years deadline and recommend it for sure.

I love this match, it's a top 4 match of 1993 in my opinion, a fast paced multi-person ironman tag that got me hooked for the entirety of its run time. I felt like everyone had the performance of a lifetime simultaneously, even the weak links delivered.

I’ve been on faction warfare and multiman matches lately. This was. Treat to re-watc, I hope this on everyone’s radar for the final stretch.

This'll land somewhere on my list. Such a unique match that flies by.
Must See Matches released a great podcast on this match last week. Well worth an hour of anyone's time.
