1994-06-07 Javier Cruz vs. Ciclon Ramirez [Hair vs. Hair] (CMLL @ Arena Mexico in Mexico City, Mexico) Javier Cruz was a great babyface luchador during the 1980s. However, here he was a great rudo. Ciclon Ramirez used to have a masked, but he was not longer masked by the time this match took place. He was a very good babyface. Ramirez juiced. Massive dive by Ramirez onto Cruz, who falls into the second or third row in the crowd. Ramirez won the first fall. Cruz won the second fall relatively quickly. The third fall was the most exciting fall. Cruz juiced. Huge dive from Ramirez. It’s hard to say if I prefer Cruz as babyface or heel, since he was great in both roles. Tremendous dives through the ropes by Ramirez. The finish came when Cruz somewhat unexpectedly put Cruz in a submission hold, which turned out to be the end of the match.

I enjoyed this a lot but isn't something I'd consider for my list. It lacked the connective tissue between the cool stuff. That said, the cool stuff was very very cool. Some of the most reckless looking dives I've ever seen and for that alone everyone should watch it.

This is my working Lucha MOTY for 1994 (currently about halfway through the year). Just an intense hate filled brawl with loads of cool aerial moves. Loved this one. I'd say **** or ****1/4.

Really an awesome match. It's always better than I remember. This one rules.
