Jerry Lawler vs Bill Dundee (No DQ, Loser Leaves Town - Memphis - 7/14/1986) "The other" Lawler vs Dundee Loser Leaves Town match. Given how much people revere the 1983 and 1985 versions of this, it is weird that this isn't discussed as much. It is Lawler and Dundee punching each other in the face in a Loser Leaves Town Match. So its one of the greatest matches ever. Lock for my list.

SEcond
This was easily my lest favorite of the three, but it is still really great. I am not sure if this one makes my list, but it deseves consideration easily. I am interested to see how people see this one compared to the others as well as how they compare this to some other long term feuds.

This match is basically just as good as the 1985 one to me. Probably the Lawler - Dundee match that feels the most chaotic. I cannot help but get sucked in by every Lawler hulk up in every match.
Thirded ****1/2

The least of the three because there are sections that dragged. A stone cold classic just not a Top 100 match.
Jerry Lawler vs Bill Dundee - Memphis 7/14/86 Loser Leaves Town
I don't know the buildup to this one other than it is the rubber match of Loser Leaves Town matches. It is No DQ and not for the Southern Championship. It is the two best gunslingers in Memphis wrestling history have one last shootout at the Mid-South Coliseum.
I love how this one starts out brimming with energy and so scrappy. They claim this in its entirety, but it is also clipped missing about 8 minutes. That's what makes all these Loser Leaves Town matches hard to rank. Dundee gains control by hitting Lawler in the Royal Family Jewels with his fist. This match really strikes a chord early how much these two have grown to hate each other. Dundee clobbers Lawler and gouges the eyes. They really like going after the eyes in these matches. There are a couple more holds than other matches, which were all bang-bang, but the holds were short lived and it mostly punches. Dundee drops the legs on the Royal Family Jewels and when Lawler powders he throws the King into all sort of hard objects. Lawler gets an early piledriver! But Dundee ends up too close to the ropes. For shame! Now Lawler is throwing Dundee's head into hard objects, the shot of the jaw onto the standard looked like it hurt. He bounces Dundee's head off the table. He goes for it again, but this time Lawler is sent crashing into it sending us into the heat segment proper. Dundee wants Lawler counted out. Dundee starts working the newly formed cut over the right eye, jabbing at it and he comes off the top with a hard punch, but foot on the rope. You can believe in this match Lawler has a chance of losing. Dundee PILEDRIVER! Foot on the ropes again. Dundee needs better ring awareness. Dundee is working on the arm now and I can see why people have this a bit lower than the other Loser Leaves Town because this one is not as Bang-Bang-Bang. Here is the cut! Dundee throwing those punches but Lawler begins to no sell, the crowd percolates and Lance says watch the strap. STRAP DOWN~! AWESOME SLUGFEST BREAKS OUT! DOWN GOES DUNDEE! 1-2-NO! PILEDRIVER! KICK OUT! WHAT THE FUCK?!?!?!?!?! A series of simultaneous punches and thats not my favorite spot, honestly. Dundee takes off his boot and clobbers the King. Cover. 1-2-NO! Nice pop for that! Lawler definitely feels in a lot more danger than the 83 match. He kicks him in the balls! Lawler crotches him on the top rope and then Piledrives his ass into oblivion for the win!
According to Russell, we are missing 8 minutes again, making it hard to give this the full monty. This match was slower in parts than '83 & '85, but I liked it as a combination of the positives of '83 (feel good ending) and '85 (a sense of danger for Lawler). This one really feels like an epic clash. I like 85 a lot for its gimmickery and its constant action. This is tough. I don't think anyone match is perfect. I think '85-'86 work really well together. They all end up with the same rating and I will have to decide their ranking later. For now, Lawler vs Dutch Mantell stands a top the Mempho heap! ****1/2

Maybe the most underrated Lawler vs Dundee match because this is fucking awesome. El McKell was right in 2018, this is basically as good as the 12/85 match and is definitely better than the other 12/85 and the 6/83 and the 77 match. Fucking amazing shit. Lawler's big comeback rules.

I feel like I've gone too low on this entire feud. I don't know if I'll have time to revisit any of it. I've always had 12/30/85 as the clear cut best of the lot, but it is too clipped for me to consider personally. I have 6/6/83 on my list and higher than this, but it has been a very long time since I've watched this. This feels like something I can pen in for a watch this weekend. hopefully I'll get to it.

Give the 12/21/85 match a watch too.

Isn’t this below the 75% cutoff? I always figured so much being missing was the main reason this doesn’t get discussed with their 1983 and 1985 stuff. Otherwise I’d agree it’s this or 12/30/85 for their best match.

The cutoff is 60%.
I've seen this match before, but I literally cannot remember a single thing about it. The 1983 match between these two is a top 10 contender for me and I've voted for the 1985 match in the past, so I'll try to revisit this to see if it has a shot on my list.

Yeah, I had this top 10 way back during the Memphis set voting, but I haven't watched it since then and I remember not one thing about it now. I probably won't get to it again before the deadline, but I WILL re-watch it some day and I will not be shocked when I love it.

Watched this again last night and it certainly does rule. I don't really have anything bad to say about this, but I don't think it makes my list, thought it is close. Maybe it is clipping. It really bothers the shit out of me if I can't watch the whole match. I also watched the big 85 match last night for comparison. I still preferred it by a hair, but it was much closer than I remember. The clipping in that match is really hard for me to get past though. I have 83 rated and maybe I'll go back to that today.
Regardless, there are some great exchanges and this does feel a bit unhinged. I totally get why folks dig this more than the others and totally get why folks have it well placed on their lists.

I managed to watch this again, and it does indeed rule. Of the Lawler/Dundee LLT matches, this one feels the most chaotic. The first couple of minutes are like a Memphis version of Frye/Takayama, and they take more advantage of the no-DQ stipulation with the use of tables, chairs, and low blows. And it goes without saying that the punches were incredible. The clipping is a killer, though. What makes it worse is that it was one giant chunk in the middle of the match rather than several smaller chunks so it's harder to get a sense of what was left out. I also would have liked a more decisive Lawler victory at the end. Right now, I feel like either this or 12/30/85 will end up sneaking onto my list. I need to rewatch both to determine which one makes the cut.
