I'll cosign all of Micro's recommendations. The two Dump vs CHigusa matches are gonna be real different from all of the other matches. They're closer to Magnum/Tully or Lawler/Funk Empty Arena than they are anything else. Both of those matches are top 25 contenders for my list. Megumi Kudo vs Combat Toyoda is a lock to make my top 10 and could go as high as #6. DreamRush 92 used to be a lot of people's #1 match of all time. You don't really see that as much anymore it seems. I imagine I'll have it somewhere in the 25-50 range.
Some other matches I'm super duper high on that Micro didn't mention:
Shinobu Kandori vs Devil Masami 7/14/88 JWP
www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0IcBfA1260One of the best matches of the 80s men or women. One of those Joshi matches that is 10 years ahead of what the men are doing. I think this would be a really translatable match for people who like late 90s All Japan.
Aja Kong vs Bull Nakano Cage Match 11/14/90
www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEuXwxhyg4oI feel like this has been underrated and somewhat forgotten over time. Maybe that's just my perception because I personally always forget about this when topics like "Best Cage Match, Best Monsters Match, Best 90s Match" come up. But when I watched it most recently (probably around a year ago), I came away thinking it is one of the great matches of the 90s. This is a great wrestling match but is more incredible spectacle. I can't explain it exactly. It isn't one of those matches I'd compare to a movie fight scene, but still feels really transcendent in a way a lot of wrestling matches don't. This has that feeling you get from a big Hashimoto Dome show match where it seems like this is the most important thing in the entire world.
Mayumi Ozaki, Cutie Suzuki, Candy Okutsu & Sumiyo Toyama vs Dynamite Kansai, Devil Masami, Hikari Fukuoka & Hiromi Yagi (4x4 1 Count Match - JWP 3/21/95)
I'm not sure if this is online. Basically one count for a pinfall makes this a rare match where everything actually does matter. One of the best stipulation matches ever.
Those are the 3 not included on Micro's list that won't just make my list, but will be in my top 50 at worst.
I have like 70 matches that are locked in to my top 100. And then like 400 matches vying for the last 30 spots. Some of the stronger Joshi contenders are:
Shinobu Kandori vs Harley Saito 7/19/90 JWP
Aja Kong & Bison Kimura vs Bull Nakano & Grizzly Iwamoto 8/19/90 AJW
The Scorpion vs Cutie Suzuki JWP 8/30/91 JWP
Bull Nakano vs Akira Hokuto 1/4/91 AJW
Akira Hokuto vs Kyoko Inoue 11/26/92 AJW
Aja Kong vs Bull Nakano 11/26/92 AJW
Toyota & Yamada vs Aja Kong & Kyoko Inoue 12/13/92 AJW
Kansai & Ozaki vs Yumiko Hotta & Takako Inoue 1/15/93 JWP
Kandori & Utako Hozumi vs Bull Nakano & Takako Inoue 11/9/93 LLPW
Akira Hokuto vs Mayumi Ozaki 11/18/93 AJW
Akira Hokuto vs Shinobu Kandori 12/6/93 AJW
Manami Toyota & Toshiyo Yamada vs Mayumi Ozaki & Dynamite Kansai 12/6/93 AJW
Hokuto & Toyota vs Yamada & Kyoko 12/10/93x2
Shinobu Kandori vs Bull Nakano Chain Match 7/14/94 LLPW
Mayumi Ozaki vs Dynamite Kansai Street Fight 3/17/95
Lioness Asuka vs Yumiko Hotta 3/27/95 AJW
Akira Hokuto vs Manami Toyota 9/2/95 AJW
Chikayo Nagashima & Reiko Amano vs Toshie Uematsu & Sonoko Kato 6/21/98 Oz Academy
I also plan on rewatching all of the matches between:
Aja Kong vs Dynamite Kansai
Aja Kong vs Manami Toyota
Aja Kong vs Meiko Satomura
All of those feuds have been very highly regarded over the years and last time I watched them I wasn't as high on the matches as I have been at various other points. But literally all of them are matches worth watching and considering.
