So, where the fuck did this come from and why haven’t I seen it until this weekend? Can we talk about this match and how it is incredible stuff. Oddly enough the majority of the match proper is built around something I kind of hate, escape the cage rules. After an early attack from Park and a sort of comeback from Santo most of this match features both men trying to escape while the other comes and grabs them before they both tumble to the ground in a way that looks like it might paralyze one of them. Some of the falls they take are brutal and awkward. Park takes the worst of the falls from the cage though. At one point he is falling backwards and I am not quite sure with the plan is. He kind of tumbles on his dome. They both take some dumps onto chairs that had me marking out on the couch. That is more or less the story of the match until the end. The match ends when Park’s crew jumps the cage and beats the shit out of Santo. Oh they aren’t done yet. They go on to fucking electrocute him. Of course this means Santo’s crew is going to come in and start cleaning house. Everyone escapes except for… you guessed it… Park. They return the favor with some voltage. The whole thing breaks down as Demon 666 gets in the cage and apparently sets up a triple threat match down the road.
I think both guys do what they do well here and that is why this is great. If someone told me Santo and Park where their two favorite or picks for two best wrestlers ever I wouldn't bat an eye. Park is being a top tier ass hold here, playing masterful heel basically from the jump at the beginning. He is slamming Santo on chairs. He stops one escape with a wicked low blow and another one later buy strait up grabbing Santo’s nuts. Santo is scratching and clawing in this. He bounces around like a pinball early on and takes some nasty looking falls. He is playing desperate Santo to a tee.
A little bit of an almost spoiler alert, Park’s mask is ripped early and you more or less just see his face in this, so if that is something you don't want to see you might not want to watch this. In all, this is an under the radar good cage match. It starts a little slower than maybe an all time classic and their formula is generally something I hate, but they execute this like maybe only these two can. Even the crazy run in ending didn’t really bother me that much because by that point the whole thing was just a hoot.
This is excellent stuff. It isn't likely to make my list, but I think it probably deserves discussion.
