If you want to, you can cut it to down to 10 or 20 but based on some discussion, seeing some opinions, the tastes of the voters, if you predicted a final top 25 for the Greatest Match Ever project, what would it be?

Impossible to answer because I have zero sense of how many people will vote in the end. There are only like 5 of us semi-regularly posting so who the hell knows. 89 people have signed up. So who knows. If a decent number of people vote in the end (say 40-50), I think it will be a race for #1 between Chicana vs MS-1, Hokuto vs Kandori, Flair vs Steamboat (pick which one), maybe Hansen vs Andre or Kobashi, Hart vs Austin, some Tanahashi and/or Okada NJPW matches I'm not aware of and probably would hate, and the usual suspects from 90s AJPW (6/3/94, 6/9/95, 1/20/97, 12/6/96, etc). I think 6/9/95 will win the whole thing. But this is the "correct top 25" gweproject.freeforums.net/thread/729/gme-top-100-rough-draft

I think puro will dominate most of the top 25 and even most of the top 10. I also have very clear 6/9/95 will win. I expect Clash VI, Chicana/MS1, Hart/SCSA, Misawa/Kawada and either the first or the fourth of the Okada/Omega matches in the top 10, at least. Tons of 90s AJPW and 80s Territories Era classics (specially Memphis) will make it, and the most famous lucha matches as well (Santito/Casas 97, Dandy/Azteca, Satánico/Cochisse, stuff like that). Somme WWE's obvious choices (both Taker/HBK 'Mania bouts, Savage/Steamboat, HHH/HBK/Benoit, Cena/Umaga, Angle/HBK...) could make it, depending of how many people will vote, as Elliott said.

A match that I could see doing very well is Okada vs. Shibata. I could see that making top 10 and being modern NJPW’s highest match. That match seems to be much more universally liked than the Okada/Omega or Okada/Tanahashi matches. That match it's gonna be on my top 5... But I didn't saw that huge 'GOAT' talking as I saw it when the first Okada/Omega happened (a match that I love, and maybe it'll make my list near the bottom), and then again with the most recent one (which I hate). The Tana/Okada saga also have that best-matches-ever kind of love, and Okada/Shibata definetly had a huge support by most of the fans, but I don't see tons of people putting it on their better/most favourite matches lists. i'm not even sure it's going to make the final list (but damn I hope so), while I totally see any of the most famous Tanahashi/Okada AND Omega/Okada make it, no doubt.

I agree that it will largely depend on how many people vote, but I think 6/9/95 or Flair-Steamboat Clash wins it. I do think Kandori vs. Hokuto and the Queendom tag match both do very well, and something like MS-1 vs. Chicana could finish anywhere from the 90's to the top 20.

Okada-Shibata, at least one Okada-Omega match, Punk-Cena, and Bayley-Sasha 1 are the ones that immediately come to mind. Although I think any number of heavily-praised WWE, NXT, or NJPW matches could amke it.

some Tanahashi and/or Okada NJPW matches I'm not aware of and probably would hate, I’m assuming you greatly dislike Okada and Tanahashi or modern NJPW? If so, can you elaborate on why you feel that way? It isn't specific to them or NJPW, its modern wrestling as a whole. I greatly prefer stuff from the 70s, 80s, 90s. I'm more likely to be intrigued by something from the 60s than from the 2010s.
