A beautiful tribute to one of the legends of the industry in the last days of his life. By all accounts, Andre was in a lot of pain during this period, but he still loved the fuck out of wrestling. He still relished in being able to go out and play the role of an unstoppable monster up to his end. Misawa and Kawada sell big for everything Andre does and make it work. Andre himself really looks motivated in match as well, including taking a rare bump off a missed elbow drop that has the appearance of a skyscraper collapsing. I've mostly focused on Andre's performance, but it's really Baba who's in for most of this and he seems pretty motivated as well in keeping up with the young guys. Andre is the main draw of this, but Baba is no slouch at all in filling the time when he's in there and it makes the sections with Andre feel that much better. Limitations be damned, this is a legitimately great match exploring the themes of big vs. small and young vs. old that gets elevated to all-time level for me knowing it's one of Andre's last great matches.

This isnt an enjoyable match. I would recommend the Baba & Andre vs Gordy & Williams match from 11/21/90 for folks wanting to watch a match from the Baba & Andre team.
