Stan Hansen vs. Genichiro Tenryu (AJPW - 3/9/1988)
Sort an under the radar brawl in what is already a great and violent series. Hansen jumps Tenryu from the get-go but Tenryu fires back with TWO of his trademark enziguris. Hansen is able to turn the tide on the outside and establishes control by working over Tenryu's back with nasty strikes and submissions. Tenryu manages the occasional flurry and targets Hansen's ribs, but occasionally he over-commits to a big flurry and misses or Hansen is able to cut him off again.
Great selling as both guys' movements and strikes become more and more labored the longer the match goes on, giving the match a much greater deal of authenticity. Hansen's mounting frustration near the finishing stretch of the match adds depth to what was already an excellent brawl and the finish is very clever. Really great minimalist approach and proof that sometimes less truly is more.

Is this American or European dating? I watched a Match from March 9th. Is that this? Or is there a match September 3rd?
