Great vets vs. youngers joshi tag worked at a blistering pace. Love seeing Chigusa/Asuka cutting off the younger team. Asuka beating on one of the youngers in a midst of a bridge kickout spot looked brutal. Loud crowd as well, as it to be expected from 80's AJW.

I’m surprised that this isn’t one of the most well received matches on here. Perhaps it was nominated just before everyone hopped on the 80s Zenjo bandwagon but it’s worth a revisit by everyone, definitely. I thought this was pretty amazing. The crowd was electric. The Crush Gal fans were rocking the house with their chants and pom poms - which reminded me of Terry Funk’s ’83 retirement oddly enough. The pacing was frantic and quick but didn’t lose focus of telling a story, whether it was Yamazaki/Tateno teaming up on Chigusa and Asuka having to save the day or Tateno surviving the barrage of suplexes from the Crush Gals. The final surge from Yamazaki and Tateno to win the match was terrific. The Crush Gals seemingly had it won but they smashed each other with a double clothesline when Tateno ducked it and that allowed them to hit double diving headbutts to win the match. The match flowed superbly well from one talking point to the other. It was classic joshi. The exchanges between Chigusa Nagayo and Itsuki Yamazaki at the bell were class; if there was anything that could’ve made this better it was more slowed down 1 v 1 moments like that but this was a great match. ****1/2

Ah I didn’t realize there was a thread for this. I saw it a couple of weeks ago and while it is not a top 100 contender for me I could see why people would rank it. Fast pace, hot crowd, impressive performances, esp by the dogged JBAs.
