All three Tenryu/Hashimoto matches are just outside my list, like, they're all top 115. I love them to death, I still consider them more-than-great matches and obvious MOTYC picks, but there's so much amazing stuff out there that it's very hard for me to do just a top 100. I wanted to put at least one of them (the 94 title match is my fav) in my list, but damn... I still need to rewatch the 98 G1 match, but that's my least favourite of their rivalry so I don't think it'll make it. But fuck, the WAR, G1 93 and 94 matches are awesome, I wish New Japan did more of that today instead of those silly big matches 90% of the time.

The 1998 Hashimoto-Tenryu match made my initial rough draft for the first ballot. I always considered the '96 Choshu match to be Hash's finest hour but now I think it was the '98 Tenryu match.

I only voted for Hash vs Choshu 96 but there are like 10 Hash matches i thought about.

The '95 Regal match is also one of my absolute favorites of his.

I had six Hashimoto matches on mine, would probably have had seven if I'd rewatched the '98 match with Tenryu in time, and might've had eight if I ever got around to their '94 match that somehow I think I'll like considering it might be my favourite match-up in wrestling history (I'm very hyped about watching it at some point, hopefully before the next deadline).

Oh mannnnn. The 94 Hash vs Tenryu is my favorite of their matches and probably a top 3 Hash match for me

I have no idea why the 1998 G1 final against Yamazaki isn't more widely celebrated. It's like the perfect combination of strong style offense and King's Road psychology. At least I wasn't the only one who voted for it this year. In fact, I wasn't even the high voter. That's progress.

The '98 G1 final is another match I haven't seen before, but based on how much I like their February '97 match I'm pretty sure I'll like it. That and the '94 Tenryu match are probably the two Hashimoto matches I haven't seen that I'm most looking forward to eventually watching.

I haven't watched the 98 Hash-Tenryu match but love the earlier stuff. Hash is my second favourite Japanese wrestler behind Kobashi, I guess they never wrestled each other?

The CHOSHUUU, Takada, Zangiev matches and the Tenryu feud were the ones that sprang to mind when I cobbled my list together quicktime.

CHOSHUUUU is a top 5 contender to me. I've never seen a match telling that much, that well, in such short time and with very limited stuff. It's the perfect minimalist match for me. I'm not as high on the Takada match (clearly one of the greatest matches ever, but not one of the best) and the G1 95 and (specially) 98 finals as most of people, though. I prefer the Zangiev, Tenryu, Hase, and Choshu 4/01/97 matches. I also want to rewatch the Kawada match, the Misawa tag match, the Regal match, the Liger match, and I've never seen the Ogawa matches... so I'm sure at least some of all those will make my list somewhere. More Hashimoto in GME 2021, please!!

I love Hash, but I always feel like I am just a notch lower on his hyped matches than most people. I think I like his work with Hase more than anything, though there are a few listed above I haven't seen or haven't seen in years and don't really remember. More stuff I would love to get to before the next ballot for sure.

Hashimoto is one of those top-tier wrestlers for me who doesn't QUITE have a match I would include in my top 100 (similar to Casas and Rey). It's weird, because I love how he makes rather minimalist matches feel like huge epics. The aforementioned G1 final against Yamazaki is a perfect example. He's just been a guy who's had a lot of 4.25 and 4.5 star matches in my book as opposed to 4.75 and 5 star matches.
That being said, his ring IQ is almost as high as his charisma. There's an awesome four-way iron man match he had in the U.S. for the NWA title and he pretty much holds the whole thing together.
