The '97 Santo match has gotten close the last two times. Maybe next year will be the year.

There's an awesome four-way iron man match he had in the U.S. for the NWA title and he pretty much holds the whole thing together. Wait WHAT? I need this.

That whole show is really good. It has a one night tag team tournament as I recall that was surprisingly fun plus the great main event

Hashimoto is one of those top-tier wrestlers for me who doesn't QUITE have a match I would include in my top 100 (similar to Casas and Rey). Negro Casas? ? I have no idea what I was thinking putting Casas in my Top 5 in 2016. Definitely a great wrestler, innovative and skilled, but he is really lacking when it comes to high-end matches (IMO) and so disappoints in project like this.

Interestingly, Casas was my #3 in 2016 and he'd be my #1 now, in part due to revisiting a bunch of things since this project started. Naturally I'm on a whole different planet when it comes to him having high-end matches because he had six on my list - only people with more than that are Hansen, Santo (both with seven) and Tenryu (eight) - one of which being my outright #1, and that six isn't including the '97 apuestas match with Santo, which I haven't watched in about thirteen years (and therefore didn't include due to my super strict and rigorous JerryVonKramer-esque inclusion criteria). There are also a handful of potential list-worthy Casas matches that I've never seen, period.
Tangentially, as a 'stock going up/stock going down' note, I think over the course of this project the only wrestlers who have taken a hit for me since my original GWE ballot are the 90s All Japan crowd, while the biggest stock going up case is probably Kandori.

What are those matches? I really like Casas and the 87, 91 and 97 matches with Santito come to mind, also his 92 match with El Dandy, but I don't know other matches list-worthy from him. Need to watch more stuff.

The ones I voted for:
vs El Dandy (CMLL, 7/3/92) vs Blue Panther (CMLL, 3/2/12) w/El Terrible & Shocker vs Rush, Rey Escorpion & Maximo (CMLL, 6/28/13) w/Blue Panther v EL Hijo del Santo & Eddie Guerrero (Juarez, 1987) w/El Dandy & Hector Garza v El Hijo del Santo, Bestia Salvaje & Scorpio Jr. (CMLL, 11/29/96) vs El Dandy vs El Hijo del Santo (CMLL, 12/6/96)
I actually forgot about the '87 Santo match, which is another one I haven't seen in over ten years but will likely make my list if I rewatch it for next time.

Casas is a weird one for me. I love him, but I do think I am probably a little lower on him than a lot of people or even than some might expect given my tastes. He has the big 3 on my list (Dandy '92, Santo '97, and the triple threat '96). The 91 Santo match is fantastic but fell from being really high on my initial draft to all the way off my list eventually. I wanna go back to the 87 Santo match because I haven't watched it in probably 5-6 years, but I originally thought it was just a half notch under 97 but enjoyed parts of it even more. The Mocho Cota '92 match is another one that stands out to me. He has a lot of matches that I think are top notch. He is a great overall entertainer to me. All that said, I'm not really drawn to him or invested in him like I am a lot of other people with similar credentials and/or his peers.
KB8... did you not vote for the 97 Santo match?

That's one I left off because I haven't seen it recently enough. My vague memory is that it probably lands top 10-20 whenever I rewatch it.

Gotcha. That strikes me as probably the best (or at least most universally praised) Casas match. It is my highest rated at #25 right now (already made some changes on my list.
