So as the ballot approaches, any major risers or fallers? Anything surprising you are adding or taking off?

I've got an almost 25minute long match with Junkyard Dog and Nikolai Volkoff in it that's going to make my list and place well.

My list is going to be massively different from last year's. Here's a few notes about what's changed.
- My last list was rushed as I didn't have much time to compile a top 100 and I missed out on a lot of stuff. Since last year, I had finally been able to get into World Of Sport and shoot-style wrestling.
- Kiyoshi Tamura went from having zero matches on my 2020 ballot to six matches on my current ballot draft.
- I've also given Puerto Rican wrestling a try and there's at least 2 locks from there too.
- Although I'm not the biggest Kenny Omega fan, one of his lesser-celebrated NJPW matches is now in my top 20.
- I've had to knock a number of my personal favourites off my list. Roddy Piper vs Bret Hart from WM8 is one of the main ones to fall on the chopping block.
- Eddie Guerrero vs Brock Lesnar from No Way Out 2004 is another notable cut.
- I'm struggling with the idea of Best vs Favourite when structuring my list. My current list is just my 5 star match list organized into a top 100. I might throw 10 or so personal favourite matches in, even if I didn't rate them the full five.

I’ve kept a running draft for a year + but didn’t sunlit a ballot last year. There’s been a lot of notable changes. I no longer feel the need to make a place for a match like 6/3/94 that so many people will vote high on that I don’t particularly care for. I think kinda being a nerd and studying this forum so throughly I’ve been able to more comfortably compile a list that I think actually are the greatest matches of all time but also reflect my own personal tastes. I do have blind spots and I have watched matches from various styles of pro wrestling (not terribly deep but I’ve dabbled). I sometimes look at my list and feel I have too much US matches, not enough Joshi or Lucha or shoot but I have some. And I have the matches that I love and can articulate why I love them. Maybe someday other things will click for me. I sometimes also worry I have too much of the same folks; there’s a lot of Terry Funk and a lot of Bryan Danielson. But l think those are the two greatest wrestlers of all time. So why wouldn’t there be a lot of them?
I’m just excited to see everyone’s lists and how this shapes up. I think y’all had 16 last time, and I’m new. So I hope there are others that also jumped on board because I find this project fascinating as hell.

The Youtube comments says its October 84, but i'm 99.9% sure this is actually the 11/10/84 match. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ff1OmV7wcCg&t=518s

It’s funny, there are a few personal favorites that I rewatched and are not as high on my list of personal favorites anymore. I suspect I will struggle with the best vs favorite but myself and want to have room for some favorites as well.
I have not submitted a ballot before but I always had Flair-Steamboat at the Clash in my top 5 or so ever, but when I rewatched it I dropped it a tier which moves it to the middle of the pack and behind the other two matches in the 1989 trilogy which I thought held up better. I wonder when I get serious about putting this in order if it will fall further.

I thought I did when I was running through slaughter matches but I didn't see it when I did a quick search. Will make sure to put it in later today I definitely saw it, or at least a match with those four on the nomination process thread. Interestingly today I was searching for a match and the names of the participants didn’t come up even though it was also in the nomination process. (More on that match later. I was using my phone, dunno if that makes a difference.

Darrenn, Your post speaks to me and we are in similar situations. I spent a huge percentage of my wrestling fandom focused on US wrestling, but I feel like I am putting in the work, as I can see you are. I may not get to everything but I am getting to a lot.
I worry about my list being a little chalky so I commend you for dropping out matches with big reps if you feel like they don't belong.
And my list will be a little top heavy on certain people as well, but that is just a natural way to prioritize I think.

Love how much Tamura you are adding.
Also low-key love kenny getting on your list.
I always want to put Guerrero v Brock on my list, but I can never justify it.
I think the favorite vs best thing is something most of us struggle with a bit. I usually at least reserve a couple of spots for matches I just want on my list (but are still GREAT).
Speaking of which, and we will talk about this more, I may float the idea of the 2022 list being a shorter "favorites" project. In short, we have been doing a little over a year between ballots each time (basically going to the next of the big 4 ppvs from wwe). If we do that after this ballot, we wont actually have a 2022 project. but maybe a little mini collection of favorites, even if it is just a thread where everyone adds theirs might be a way to make sure there is a "project". Just a thought I had while on a road trip recently.

I feel like I get less chalky as I go, but as I look back I think the ratio is about the same, it just changes in the manner in which I am chalky and the manner in which I am "me"
