She gets her leg worked over for something like ten minutes, and when she goes back on offense, she immediately starts running around like a jackrabbit not even making a token attempt to sell the damage. I'll give them credit for cutting an incredible pace, but cardio alone doesn't make a match great.

What surprised me the most about the results was that Ikeda vs Ishikawa from 2005 fell before the TOP 100. I had it at #69 and thought I was being too low. Since I started reading and participating in wrestling forums many years ago, this match was one of the most acclaimed.

I tried to rewatch the 2005 match a week ago or so, and was fucking annoyed at how many camera cuts per second are in the first few minutes, I had to stop watching. That has only happened to me with RAW before, but damn it is so bad. The worst part about it is that I don't remember that version at all (in fact, I'm a big fan of the opening of that match and I clearly remember watching another camera shot of it), so if anyone knows what I'm talking about please let me know if there's actually another version of this match... Am I just having the biggest Mandela effect of my life?

Well I technically never voted for any match this time around but I sure felt personally attacked at several points going through that rundown.

In all seriousness I think this sort of thing gives people a great idea of what others hold as important and just straight up like most in their pro wrestling. You can get a feeling of that from looking at each individual ballot that's been submitted as well, but I now know way more about your tastes as a fan from reading 10 words on those matches - including and maybe even especially the ones you don't like or have no interest in checking out - than I did before.

For instance I now know that recommending a bunch of amazing Roddy Piper matches will be wasted on you because you're obviously not right in the head, but we're a bit closer on joshi so the next time I revisit some 90s joshi there'll be matches I'll watch and think, "I bet NL would dig this. Prolly."

So that's a cool thing, I guess.
