No opinion on this, but it's hilarious that a Lars Sullivan match got a vote and no Adam Cole matches did.

WALTER is a world-class asskicker and Darby is a world-class asskickee, so this is a natural matchup. Darby's best pre-AEW match.

I saw the April match between these two. Good selling and psychology, although I don't have much patience these days for extended sequences where the heel has a submission locked in and the face keeps trying to reach the ropes and the heel keeps pulling him to the center of the ring.

Mainly a tremendously emotional moment, but it actually holds up pretty well as a wrestling match. This should have been the retirement match for 3 of the 4.

I wasn't sure if I'd seen this, so I read some reviews to try to jog my memory. Nigel apparently takes a really stupid bump on the guardrail, which amazingly isn't the stupidest thing he would do in this series.

Pretty great match (or at least as great as a 60-minute draw can be) with a terrible nonsensical finish. Having the challenger in a submission trying to hold on until the end is complete ass-backwards psychology.

Misawa vs. American hosses wasn't an ideal matchup. He seemed to struggle to construct matches with guys he couldn't do a lot of his power moves against, so there'd be a ton of stretches where he'd kill time with front facelocks and the like. They finally solved the problem when Vader came along by having the matches go as short as possible.

This was around the time Baba went insane and decided all title matches had to go 40-plus. Even the match where Stan Hansen regained the Triple Crown from Kawada went over 30, which was a questionable proposition in Hansen's athletic prime and was sheer lunacy with him in his mid-forties.

Probably the preeminent example of Good Shawn where his over-the-top bumping and selling get his opponent and the match over as opposed to drawing attention to himself at the expense of both (the quintessential example of Bad Shawn of course being vs. Hogan at Summerslam). Probably Shawn's second-best singles match and a strong contender for Nash's best in singles.

I'll say something nice about this match: the referee holding Dory back from interfering while Sheik and Abby were stabbing Terry's arm in plain sight was pretty amusing. It reminded me of that Ren & Stimpy episode where they wrestled as Mad Dog Hoek and Killer Kadoogan.

Sure, why not.

High Vote: Tetsujin - 48
Something of a forgotten classic. Better than any match the Pillars had with each other before 12/3/93 and any singles match before 6/3/94.
248-T. Randy Orton vs Mick Foley (WWE - 4/18/2004)
Total Points: 93
# of Ballots: 2
High Vote: Tetsujin - 29
It is perhaps the height of comedy that Orton's claim to fame is being a fundamentally sound less-is-more worker and yet the consensus best match of his career is a Foley garbage brawl.
248-T. Bryan Danielson vs. Kenny Omega (AEW - 9/22/2021)
Total Points: 93
# of Ballots: 1
High Vote: Gramsci - 8
I wouldn't bat an eye if someone said this was the best match of both men's careers. I respect the top 10 vote.

This would have been pretty great if it was just KENTA beating the shit out of Low Ki and squashing him like a bug.
246-T. Bryan Danielson vs Chris Hero (PWG - 9/4/2009)

One of the better joshi title matches as I recall.

I don't think I've ever seen a Felino singles match, to be honest. The closest I've come is a Negro Casas match in New Japan where he was wearing Felino's bodysuit for some reason.
241-T. Shingo Takagi vs Masaaki Mochizuki (DG - 11/01/2015)

Pre-NJPW Shingo is another blind spot for me.
241-T. Daniel Bryan vs Kofi Kingston (WWE - 4/7/2019)

Maybe the best individual performance of Bryan's career. Making Kofi look like a worthy world champion speaks for itself.

A strong contender for Bull's best match. I didn't even mind her no-selling the kendo stick shots because the way Aja and Bison were swinging them, they wouldn't have broken a pinata.

If you've been reading along this far, you probably have a good sense of what my thoughts on this are going to be. This certainly has its moments (namely the Kong/Kansai showdown and the finish), but 60 minutes is a hell of a big ask, particularly with the frantic joshi style. This would've been much better if it had been worked elimination-style and been at least 20 minutes shorter.
