Heads up, everyone
The top 10 might come in the afternoon (EST) tomorrow. Not sure if I'll be able to do it in the AM. Regardless... It WILL be up tomorrow.

Crazy to see 3 #1 votes for Kandori/hokuto and still dropping 2 spots.

Unexpected little changes on the top 10. I never saw coming Austin/Bret at #2, that's fun. I'm so glad Misawa/Kobashi finally ranked above Misawa/Kawada, too. AJPW's reign of terror continues.

It looks like my fears were unfounded and 6/9/95 did, in fact, win by a lot (the gap between first place and second was bigger than the gap between second and seventh). I guess I won't have to organize a Stop the Steal rally after all.
For real though, thanks to everyone who participated.

Really cool to see Austin/Bret make a leap. Definitely didn't see that coming

Hokuto/Kandori falling is a surprise, as is Bret/Austin rising to second.

No matches got every vote. I'm surprsied Kobashi/Kikuchi vs Can Ams and Hansen vs Kobashi 93 didn't make every ballot. Even I vote for those every year

Honestly thought this would be the year Hokuto-Kandori would unseat 6/9/95, but still the undefeated champ!

6/9/95 is a boring #1 because it’s so canonized as such. It’s hard to argue. It’s undeniably compelling.
I’ll still never understand 6/3/94 holding ground. It’s not that I dislike the match, I just don’t see it on that level.
Regardless it was fun to join this go around after watching the rollouts last year. I definitely look forward to staying active in the forum and catching up on some stuff that are blind spots for me.

It's been a blast doing this. Thanks to everyone who's worked hard to make this happen. Here are a few thoughts about the now completed list.
- Not surprised that 6/9/95 finished first yet again. It's a boring pick, but I can't name you a better match than that one.
- I thought I would be responsible for Kandori/Hokuto not making #1 as I didn't vote for it, but even if three more people voted it as their #1, it still wouldn't have enough points to knock 6/9/95 of the top spot!
- I wish I like The Can-Ams vs Kobashi and Kikuchi tag as much as you guys seem to love it. It's a four-star match with a five-star crowd for me.
- I'm a bit gutted that the Tamura/Kohsaka match dropped as much as it did. That match made my top ten and it's one of the best matches that I discovered this year.
- The 1983 match between Lawler and Dundee is the highest-rated match that I haven't seen. Does anyone have a link?
- Another 2021 discovery for me is the Hennig/Bockwinkel broadway and I'm very pleased that it jumped 12 spots ahead this year.
- I really hope the posters that aren't fans of either Omega or Naito at least make time to watch their 2016 match together. I'm not a huge fan of either guy yet the match still finished in my top 20.
- I'm intrigued by some of the 80s Joshi matches that cracked the top 100. I've seen the heavy hitters from that era but not the matches like Galactia vs Yokota and Dump vs Omori.

8. Stan Hansen vs Andre The Giant (NJPW – 9/23/1981) Total Points: 1064 # of Ballots: 16 High Vote: mvz, Grimmas - 5 2020 Finish: 16
Interesting to see this one crack the top 10 this year, especially not getting a vote higher than 5. It is well deserved though.
6. Stan Hansen vs Kenta Kobashi (AJPW – 7/29/1993) Total Points: 1242 # of Ballots: 17 High Vote: JKWebb - 7 2020 Finish: 8
I don’t want to take anything away from this match because I love it, but I want to really encourage people to watch the 4/93 match as well and give it a fair shake. I came away this year very comfortable in the opinion that it is the better match of the two.
4. Shinobu Kandori vs Akira Hokuto (AJW – 4/2/1993) Total Points: 1325 # of Ballots: 15 High Vote: Cap, mvz, Grimmas - 1 2020 Finish: 2
It is a damn shame. Heathens… the lot of you!
Honestly though, I think last year was Kandori/Hokuto’s best shot at taking the top spot. It had the most ballots last year and this year quite a few people left it off completely. Might be some pendulum swinging, might be voter pool. Who knows. It is still #1 in my heart (and on my list).
2. Bret Hart vs Steve Austin (I Quit Match – WWF – 3/23/1997) Total Points: 1383 # of Ballots: 17 High Vote: Cactus, Mattsdmf - 2 2020 Finish: 4
I was actually pretty pleasantly surprised to see this match get #2. Well earned. This match never gets old to me. Unless something changes I don’t know that we are going to see a different # 1 anytime soon, but I wouldn’t be blown away if this was the match to unseat the champ.
1. Holy Demon Army vs Kenta Kobashi/Mitsuharu Misawa (Tag League Final – AJPW – 6/9/1995) Total Points: 1629 # of Ballots: 18 High Vote: mattsdmf, andyLFC, Superstar Sleeze, Cactus, Gramsci, NintendoLogic, Bossrock - 1 2020 Finish: 1
If the pick itself isn’t interesting, its dominance was. I mean with that many #1 votes and being on 18/19 ballots, nothing else really shood a chance. It is boring, but sometimes that is the way it is. Obviously we are just a small little corner on the internet, but 3 years at the top is tough to argue with.

Another nice list. Shoot-style's showing was a little underwhelming (though 4 Tamura matches is nothing to sneeze at) and Joshi overachieved. I'm disappointed that some of my favorites (Fujiwara/Takada 10/90, Liger/Samurai, Satanico/Cochise) fell out of the Top 100 but that's on me for not participating this year.

4. Shinobu Kandori vs Akira Hokuto (AJW – 4/2/1993)Total Points: 1325 # of Ballots: 15 High Vote: Cap, mvz, Grimmas - 1 2020 Finish: 2 It is a damn shame. Heathens… the lot of you! Might be some pendulum swinging, might be voter pool. Who knows. It is still #1 in my heart (and on my list). Yeah, this is a good observation. Plus, a bunch of people did not include 6/9/1995 last year (it was on 13 ballots vs. Hokuto/Kandori's 15, out of a total 16). It still won of course but the margin was a mere 37 points. This time it bridged the deficit and, well, the difference in points (304) speaks for itself.
